After a While, People Get Fed Up with Bigots and Bullies

For the first time in years, LGBT Americans have lost support among non-LGBT Americans.

A new survey commissioned by the LGBT media-advocacy group GLAAD and conducted by The Harris Poll found that fewer non-LGBT adults reported being comfortable with their LGBT peers than in previous years.

I wonder why.

Actually I don’t.

  1. Generally speaking, most people reject radicalism and it is indeed radicalism that has been promoted by liberal gays. Leftist gays, who are always two steps behind the Democratic Party Central demagogue Network, still believe that we live in a free-for-all society. Which we don’t. The alphabet gays are their own worst enemies.

  2. I’ve only read the headlines on this story and so haven’t looked at the actual poll results nor the questions (which, in polling, are really everything); but assuming the questions and the methodology are the same as previous administrations of the poll, I can’t help but wonder how much of the decline in what I’ll call “warm fuzzies” isn’t due to the expansion of transgender rights and the accompanying madness [eg, “there are 67 genders”, “gender is fluid, even from day to day”, “you must use my choice of pronouns, no matter how I present myself”, etc]. If I were an average non-LGBTQIAXYZ person, I would definitely feel very uncomfortable around anyone who was carrying the flag for an extremist point of view and might use any real or perceived slight as reason for retaliation.

All the more the reason for mainstream organizations who were once solely ‘G & L” to cut the trannies loose and let them carry their own water.

  3. Don’t know how accurate the poll is, but those results wouldn’t surprise me. If you read the other gay blogs (Pink News; The Advocate; Queerty; Towleroad; and the horrific JoeMyGod) you see a degree of bitterness and outright unbelievable stupidity that makes you think you’re in some bizarro-land of Kafka or Lewis Carroll. Typical logic (wishful thinking) on those blogs is looking at the murders of black transpeople (prostitutes) by black clients, and blaming it on Trump. If those blog-types are representative of the larger gay wonder they make the public feel uncomfortable.

  4. Just as the Civil Rights movement metastasized into Entitlement, Extortion Politics* and Black Lives Matter; the humanist Gay Rights movement has morphed through ACT-UP and SSM, to Cake-politics, drug-fueled hedonism and Trannie-pronoun Gender Wars.

It’s one thing to want basic civil decency for Uncle Frank and “Uncle” Charlie; it’s totally another to have perverts teaching deviant-sex in Jr. High School health classes, perversity normalized, and basic American values debased. Alphabet Politics and Bake-the-Cake pushed the envelope too-far; hence the “backlash”. [/sarcasm?, not really]

  5. That’s why I no longer identify as Gay.

    Comment by BigJ — January 28, 2018 @ 1:26 pm - January 28, 2018

  6. “For the first time in four years, GLAAD found that fewer non-LGBT adults are comfortable with their LGBT peers. The organization says Trump’s anti-LGBT agenda is partly to blame.”

First, 4 years? What was going on then?
Second, What anti LGBT agenda? It’s conspicuous by its absence. Trump is probably the most gay-friendly president ever.

Hell, I’m queer as a three dollar bill and I’m not comfortable around LGBT radicals. I detest anyone who politicizes sexuality and promotes perversion and mental illness, and attempts to destroy the lives of anyone who disagrees with them. LGBT activists aren’t fighting for anyone’s rights, they’re demanding “special rights” and superior legal status.

    Comment by Steven — January 28, 2018 @ 1:37 pm - January 28, 2018

  7. To continue with Ted B’s observations, I submit that, like the black civil rights movement, “activists” have found that being a victim is profitable and accrues power over other people.

As with race, when the activists start running out of actual injustice, they start looking for it. And, like gold in a creek, they easy stuff disappears and it gets harder and harder to come up with much of a nugget of injustice.

So, “injustice” is redefined into micro aggression and, as with so many race hoaxes, injustice has to be manufactured.

I happened on a tweet by what looked like a 60-somethine boomer with beard and ‘stache foaming at the mouth over Drumpf and “repugnants” so, out of curiosity, I looked at his recent tweets. Without exception, all of them were foam-flecked rants about Trump and “rethuglicans” (just bluster, nothing of substance) and all I could think was this he had to be one of those unpleasant people that no one other than his fellow travelers could stand to be in the same room with.

Truth be known, I suspect some of these miserables can hardly stand to be in the same room with each other.

    Or with themselves.

    Comment by KCRob — January 28, 2018 @ 1:38 pm - January 28, 2018

  8. I agree with BigJ. Everyone just seems to accept the notion that liking the same sex makes you a fundamentally different kind of human. But it clearly doesn’t, so what is that value of such a meaningless label?

    Comment by mn scorpio — January 28, 2018 @ 2:08 pm - January 28, 2018

  9. Of course, GLAAD has to blame the backlash on Trump’s non-existent anti-gay “agenda.” They sure can’t blame it on their own extremism.

Besides, the official party line is that Trump is to blame for everything. Including the Kennedy assassination and both world wars.

And Ted B and KC Rob are right. The professional activists have to find social injustices, whether real or imagined, because they need an issue to justify their sinecures.

    Comment by Tom — January 28, 2018 @ 2:51 pm - January 28, 2018

  10. In spite of endless PC propaganda. The average “Joe sixpack & Sally Soccermom are starting to see gay’s as a danger to there children, church, and lifestyle. Too bad none of them can see what that backlash will be when the people in “flyover” have had enough and decide “en mass” to take out the trash. Do Ya’ Know what the word “faggot” means? It is a bundle of small sticks tied together and tossed into a fire. It was first applied to homosexuals when the Catholics burned them at the stake or in pits during the middle ages. Modern “Gays” and Hollywierd are trying hard to restart that tradition. There is a slow and horrid rage building in middle class white America.

  11. Under Castro, Pol Pot, and the likes, the radical alphabet gay useful idiots would have been 2nd to be deported to labor camps or lined up against the wall and shot while begging for their lives.

They’d have been 2nd only, though — as the 1st would have been/were teachers, journalists, and intellectuals.

    Comment by Cyril J. — January 28, 2018 @ 4:06 pm - January 28, 2018

  13. @ Ray: That is actually an improper folk etymology, popularized because it furthers the narrative of homosexuals being historically persecuted. The usage dates to the early 20th century, and was actually originally a derogatory term for a woman, typically a disagreeable older woman, which then got applied to gay men, much like “queen” did.

All the progress that homosexuals have made in being able to live their lives undisturbed without fear of violence or social/economic reprisal is being erased because a noble cause fell into the hands of tyrants. Thank God for loud and unabashed plantation escapees like Tammy Bruce, Milo, Guy Benson, and Chad Felix Greene. Thanks to them, those of us who reject the mentality of Leftist gays will probably continue to be left alone.

And it never will be in this country.

It’s only been, and it continues to be, America vs her domestic enemies.

  21. Since the start of the ‘cake war’, I have been waiting to see the country been to reject the loud-mouth far left queers. That along with the big push of transgender by the same will only ensure the country will reject these people. The country is correct to reject the far left queers, but they will only continue to push yet harder.

  22. All of the LGBTQRXYZ stuff of 1/28/2018 had to exist when I was growing up in the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s – or – it is mostly baloney.

A male classmate in high school was on a different wave link, but he was very popular and when he graduated and opened a beauty salon in the late “50’s” no one was either surprised or consumed with any sort of bias.

My point is that if I was surrounded as a kid by gays, lesbians, trans-gendered, bi, etc. it was not an important issue. I never knew of a kid who committed suicide.

My work with high school kids in the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s was a period of increasing awareness and sensitivity to the whole LGBTQRXYZ salmagundi. To this day, I don’t really know what its all about, Alfie. I have good friends who are a long time gay couple and they are as perplexed as I am about how something so personal became so politicized and confrontational. I guess the three of us were just sheltered from reality, or something.

I am very familiar with the small neighborhoods throughout Manhattan. Of course, Stonewall would happen in the same way that Studio 54, Gallery, Good Room, Le Bain became open drug scene clubs. Big cities are always the incubators of counter cultures. Study Hogarth’s London prints for yourself.

Really, the wheels came off the bus with the fallout from Leary, Kerouc, Kesey and the whole Age of Aquarius narcissism. When people begin to adore themselves and then form clubs and packs, little good rarely comes from it. Ask the Romans who settled on orgies as the highest form awareness.

So, if people, in general, are tired of the LGBTQRXYZ pity stuff, I am not surprised. In fact, if the economy continues to expand at 2017 rates, I think the whole pity party politics scam will generally wither. The whole empathy game may become stale.

On the other hand, if the DemonizingRats can tip the balance back toward the spirit of collectivism, the world of “victims” will arise anew.

  23. face it the gay rights movement has been hijacked by the political left. like any movement or organization the left will infiltrate it and subvert its purpose to the left’s political agenda, which is always to do whatever will destroy the united states.

    Comment by salg — January 28, 2018 @ 7:28 pm - January 28, 2018

  24. @ I believe the etymology is 20th century. I’ve read Beowulf, Shakespeare and quite a few other medieval works in English and I’ve seen no reference to ‘faggot’ as a slur on gays, even when homosexuality was referenced. Also, it appears to be an American term, which has always been a majority protestant country.

I think the poll results are similar to why I identify as agnostic anymore. I haven’t changed my beliefs or anything, I just really can’t stand other atheists.

No wonder why the radical left has completely lost it by now.

    Comment by Paul — January 28, 2018 @ 10:19 pm - January 28, 2018

  30. Oh, and to those who blame the “gay left”: There are plenty of “elder” gays (mostly Baby Boomers and early Gen X’ers) who are sick of the 75 genders crap. They’re VERY left-wing, but also have a more old school mindset when it comes to the gay rights movement.

They’re the ACT UP types as opposed to the GLAAD types.

  32. Heliotrope its not the economy expanding we have to worry about but when the can stops being kicked down the road. The US national debt with pension guarantees & unfunded liabilities is higher than the entire GDP of the world.

There is NOTHING more indiscriminately destructive than people who played by the rules and then suddenly realize they were shafted, conned and treated like someone’s bitch.

    Comment by Steve — January 28, 2018 @ 10:59 pm - January 28, 2018

  33. Very good insight, Steve, and as an educator in California, exactly the fears I have regarding the pension I have been paying into for the past 18.5 years.

I no longer call myself gay because I want nothing to do with LGBTWXYZ politics and do not believe a person’s existence should be defined by such a label. I am a celibate male who is attracted to males, but that isn’t anything that has to be shared or divulged…and that doesn’t make me like myself less.

The million gender march/transgender awakening/militant anti-capitalism due to cakes movements are really hurting their movement, and I really don’t know what those things have to do with being a homosexual except to reinforce the antiquated notion that homos are mentally ill by allying themselves with crazy people

    Comment by TADFORD — January 29, 2018 @ 2:19 am - January 29, 2018

  34. Tadford, your point about reinforcing old stereotypes of gay people’s being mentally ill makes me think about what I’ve been telling my husband about #metoo lately: Gosh, if I’d known I was so emotionally delicate, I would have begged to be spared the burden of, you know, voting, working, and being expected to participate fully in society. I hate the devaluing of the experience of those who have really been wronged, just so that everybody can feel included in the victim group…
