No, He Isn’t and Yes, You Are

OK, this woman is an idiot, but I’m somewhat more interested in the sign directly behind her.

“Religious Freedom is Christian Terrorism.”

The Left really believes that. Just like they believe “Free Speech is White Supremacy” and “Due Process is Rape Culture.”

Oh, and the idea that Trump is some kind of anti-American Fascist isn’t just a fringe-left idea; their operatives in the Democrat-Media Complex have been pushing the idea ever since he became the Republican nominee. (Of course, they pretty much do that for every Republican candidate unless they lose (Romney), turn against their party (Flake) or both (McCain).)

Yesterday, Trump floated the idea of having a parade to honor military veterans. The left totally lost their marbles. These are the same people who, while running the Veteran’s Administration, left veterans to die on waiting lists for medical services. The same people who think importing third-world migrants and signing them up for welfare is more important than caring for veterans.

Either the left must be destroyed, or Liberty will be destroyed.

  2. I run by there everyday!!. MIssed this one but when the left have their stupid protests it’s fun to run by shouting Make America Great Again! We even get some Pro-Trump people to counter protest sometimes.

Also the ACLU likes to stand out on the street soliciting with the pickup line usually something about defeating Trump. I usually shout back either “Already had your chance in 2016” or “Why? He’s making America Great again”

Lots of logic works that way. “Freedom is the absence of choice.” “It is cold above the tree line because there are no trees.” “This cold winter is caused by global warming.” “Hillary deserves to be President because she is a woman.” “Criticizing Obama is racism.”

Well, you said it, lady, I didn’t.

And “Christian terrorism”? Like those attacks by Christians in Boston, Orlando, Ft. Hood, Chattanooga, San Bernardino, Brussels, Nice, Paris, Cologne, London, and Manchester?

Because we all know that Islam (“kill the infidels wherever you find them”) is the Religion of Peace, and has “nothing whatever” to do with terrorism. And Christianity (turn the other cheek; judge not, lest ye be judged) is the religion of oppression.

And a parade for veterans would not cost more than Barry’s constant vacations.

Oddly, in America most people refer to the Rich as the Hoi Polloi, when if fact it’s a reference to the Sullen Masses. But then who speaks — or reads — Classical Greek in America anymore?

Back in the mid-70s, (Gods now I feel really old) one of the colleges that I was interested in was St Johns College in Annapolis. They were one of the last colleges in the US with a traditional liberal arts Classics program including studying in the original Classical Latin and Greek; literature, poetry, mathematics, philosophy. But I was warned-off because it would be difficult to get into a graduate Architectural degree program afterwards with a Classics degree, versus having an architectural or engineering degree.

  14. @12 in of those, second kind, the spin basically goes like this (paraphrasing; exercise left to the reader to find it) —

    It starts as usual,

Teacher: “… and that’s something the Trump supporters are too stupid to understand.”

Student: “Is that what you’re saying? Why are you generalizing to all Trump supporters?”

(argument about why it’s all Trump supporters vs maybe not all of them)

    then it gets better,

Student: “I’m just saying, generalizing like that, whether you support Trump or whoever or not, it’s ridiculous.”

Teacher: “It’s not ridiculous, it’s my freedom of speech, and who are you to deny it (etc)”

Student: “What does this has to do with anything? I’m not denying you whatever, I was saying the generalizing was ridiculous…”

Teacher: “No, you were trying to shut us up, like they all do…”

Student: “No, no, I was arguing against what you meant, not that you had a right to freedom of speech — I am all for freedom of speech actually…”

    (more nonsense quid pro quo)

Teacher: “You’re going to have to leave this class if you can’t handle an argument, do now.”

    Beautiful.

  16. “…importing third world migrants and signing them up for welfare is more important than caring for veterans.”

The Obama administration not only cut veterans’ benefits, they cut cancer research funding to provide subsidized housing for illegal immigrants.

Meanwhile, British and Canadian subjects who joined ISIS are being allowed to return home, and are being given priority for public housing and other benefits. While people who served honorably in the British Army are homeless.

And PM Turdeau allocated 35 million for the terrorists on the dole, but he says that providing benefits for disabled CAF veterans is “asking more than we are able to give.”

And a British soldier of fortune who served in the Kurd militia, fighting against ISIS, is being prosecuted for terrorism.

    Welcome to Bizarro World.

Other than putting effort into stopping their rule – it’s best to just move on by them, and let time do what it will with them.

That’s an understatement. The cognitive dissonance wrt. their self-proclaimed “inclusiveness” has reached such levels that, if you didn’t know anything about its ins and outs, you’d be tempted to speculate about some sort of contagious disease.

Concrete recent example of their implementation of empathy for the small guy, when the ball is in their camp —

However, from this being a fad madness of the few, the madness has really taken hold of so many. And for what? Because you ‘better’ be with the herd. I watch a partner feed on this herd rot, and know he is better than this. However, silence is the better route to take. Facts – or logic just does not seem to work. But, it gives me no joy to watch this madness.

  22. @20 I read a (french) translation of Burke’s “Reflections on the Revolution in France” in 1989, while graduating from highschool — on my father’s advice. 1989 was the bicentennial celebrations that the French left was getting off with, a year prior and for a year after, at the time.

I had to wait for my mid 20s (1995) to discover Frederic Bastiat — also totally blacked out from French public schools since the late 1800s I presume — stumbling on one of his early texts by sheer browsing luck on the web naissant.

  29. Cyril – Being quite American Burke was a real counter-balance account about the French Revolution. The king was completely clueless about the actual need of the French people, but the madness that came with the revolution made the king a saint. That and I had an relative in the family tree had a front row seat (as it were) watching the terror before he removed himself and his whaling business back to America.

But it is excellent study of the dangers of the left when no balance from the right is allowed.

And yes – understand about the ideology. We cannot trash the baby with the bathwater. We can leave that to the leftist. 🙂

Not that I have a milligram of nostalgia, but yes, guess he was.

Did you know? His dearest private hobby was locksmith works. Keys, locks, fine metal craft.

Also, his Austrian wife never uttered “Are they hungry? Let them eat cake.” — this has been eventually debunked by historians a decade or so ago, while establishing that it started as a smearing campaign originating in France, developed in Britain, and ripe for exploitation back home a few years later —

before both lost their heads to our outcome equity champions who starved their 17 year old child to death soon thereafter.

When I tell people, Americans included, around me, that we French have turned that pure evil into a state-sponsored art 1789-present that shed most of this world’s wasted blood ever since, they think I’m crazy and I feel like I’m coming from another planet.

  34. #30 Indeed. Both Louis and Marie got bad press, and so many ways very wrong press. It is very hard to defend him. His government did so much that truly made a successful break from Britain for America. He and family did not deserved to have been put to death for – (what?) bad advice from his ministers. In the end – time had ran out for some very serious problems in France, but regardless, when you can believe Napoleon is a good for ending an horrible revolution that revolution was a horror.

America’s revolution wasn’t completely perfect. I had relatives on both sides in it. Nevertheless, thank god we didn’t have the reign of terror.

  35. “Either the left must be destroyed, or Liberty will be destroyed.”

The age-old tension between those who desire self-determination, and those who are too lazy or stupid to be self-fulfilling adults. If the American experiment has shown anything, it’s that freedom isn’t for everyone, or even the majority. It takes real effort to be free.

I’ve been considering the idea that the Left is the natural state of the universe. Consider the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics. Order devolves to chaos until heat death occurs. Human society is fundamentally intertwined and based on natural processes. We are not separate from the Universe. This may help explain why it’s so easy to be a Progressive.

Progressivism is all about deconstruction, destruction, and fundamental reorganization of a given society to a lower energy state. Consider the standard of living between a capitalist and socialist society. Progressivism does not improve the human condition, nor does it create higher-order societies from existing ones. The trend is only down. Ultimately Progressivism will lead to the extinction of the human race.

Considering that nearly all of human history, and very nearly all of animal society, is the few strong dominating everything else. Looking at the way the Universe is built, it’s pretty nearly inevitable.

I’ve long maintained that humans are the antithesis of the 2nd Law: we create order from chaos. But it’s really only a minority of humans that have the will to exercise that ability. Those who seek to live freely are probably engaged in a losing battle. But I will not submit today.
