It’s Not 1983 Any More; Everybody’s Used to it

CNN and the rest of the mainstream media brought their Trump Derangement Agenda to the Olympics and succeeded in turning the North Korean Minister of Propaganda into Mary Tyler Moore circa 1974. 🎶Who can turn the world on with her smile.🎶

The Gay Left have been doing their in politicizing the Olympics likewise, with obnoxious Skate Queen Adam Rippon and fellow traveler Gus Kenworthy tweeting out: “We’re here, we’re queer, get used to it.”

News Flash: Everybody is already used to it.*

Gay people are about as common as gray on a rat in today’s society. Gay people at the Olympics doesn’t move the shock needle one iota for the majority of us, and it certainly doesn’t seem to bother Pence. Hell, like many people, I spent the majority of my life assuming most male figure skaters were gay.

The bottom line is that being gay doesn’t make you special, it makes you gay

So, just shut up and do your silly little skater thing, princess.

*Except the Mohammedans, but we’re not supposed to acknowledge that.

  1. But they are so ‘special’, and must push themselves. Much of this generation has a considerable problem; there was a past before them that existed regardless of what they want.

  2. And obnoxious personality and sarcasm is not an indication of intelligence. Neither is the inability to shut the f up.

  3. I’m so oblivious to gayness that I found myself wondering why that guy was hitting on me in what I didn’t know was a gay bar.

    20 years ago. In Paris.

Here’s what I still can’t get used to, though — an appalling number of commies, today. In America.

  7. @5 Just wait until Linda Sarsour and her acolytes decide it’s time for their proselytism to steal the show at events praising feline body moves.

Dunno if anybody will be shocked or not, but my conundrum will likely be to choose between face palming or lmao’ing at the societal update.

  8. Most heterosexuals at this point are not only “used to it” but are sick of it. There’s such as thing a overreach and LGBQTURXYZ… reached it a while back.

  10. @R9: Greg Louganis’s coming out also involved saying he had AIDS during a time when meds were far less advanced than they are now.

“Most heterosexuals at this point are not only “used to it” but are sick of it. There’s such as thing a overreach and LGBQTURXYZ… reached it a while back.”

The overreach at this point has gotten to the point where I’M sick of it, and I’m gay. They reached that point when they added a bunch of other stuff that had absolutely nothing to do with homosexuality whatsoever.

    Comment by salg — February 13, 2018 @ 3:43 pm - February 13, 2018

  13. @8

    Gays have never been a problem here, and assuming I’d only pay attention to that trait;

heck, even the LGBTDECIPHERMEIFYOUCAN bragging barely qualifies as a mild annoyance —

But, true, I guess that’s your point. That’s the overlap with cultural marxist pain-in-a**-professionals who have the courts on their side that get on me.

Nobody is ever safe with closet commies and closet fascists around with complacent bureaucrats.

Not even, or especially not, the gays with common sense.

I’d be really p*ssed to be Milo and having to spend $$$ in security just to show up and stay safe when the real terrorists are running around posturing as poor lil oppressed things.

  14. I’m old enough to remember a time when gay people simply wanted their sexuality to be a non-issue. Now I’m old enough to have learned that’s not what they wanted at all. It’s hard to play a victim w/out a bogeyman and it’s hard to convince everyone the bogeyman is real if the bogeyman doesn’t care. Thus, Gay Conversion Therapy is still a ‘thing’ when discussing Mike Pence. Thus, Adam Rippon still refuses to sit down and talk with Mike Pence, claiming he has nothing to say to Pence. Rippon certainly won’t be remembered for his skating and his agent knows it; thus, he’s already moved on to being a professional homosexual, fighting the bigotry of the right-wing bogeyman that doesn’t exist. Speaking (lisping) tours and a book deal are sure to follow and Twitter followers like Reese Witherspoon (rehearsing Legally Blonde V) gush about how much America supports him, if only to maintain her/their own name recognition. This is all PR bullshit. All of this is without any substance. It’s all a stunt.

  29. From an existential-viewpoint, what true threats remain for the average G/L American? Especially those NOT living in the Gay Ghettos (of the mind) in our large coastal cities?

Many employers openly-protect their employees from overt discrimination. And the others really don’t want the bad PR that goes with doing something blatant…other than the private religious-schools. You might not get that choice promotion, but you’re unlikely to be sent home with your desk-contents in a cardboard box JUST for being gay.

Gay Marriage is the law of the land, albeit with some social friction from in-laws and the Church. I can remember when a mixed marriage (oh, the Horror!) was an Italian girl* marrying an Irish boy from the same parish… [* – socially-presumed to be a virgin.]

In most communities you’re unlike to be randomly-beaten up for being G/L. And if it happens the Police generally will take it seriously. (They don’t need the bad PR either.)

Gay bars are dying as we can hang with all our friends and loved-ones at (nearly) any bar. Kissing or just holding-hands no-longer means ostracism and the calling of Police. And generally the cringing at overt PDAs is on par with the same reactions when the breeders to it. **yeesh, get a room**

Yes, there’s still plenty of uncomfortable moments, but few if any that are life-threatening or life-destroying like when I was in college in the 1970s.

  30. My experience is that ever since the Kinsey report was found to be ridiculously overstating the numbers, activists have been trying to make themselves look less like a very small minority of the population. Each new letter added is akin to a cat arching it back, a skunk raising its tail, a cobra fanning out it’s neck. It’s all an attempt to make themselves look bigger than they are.

Sorry, at this point it’s a convergent series, and the numbers are not going to rise much above 3% all told.

  33. Sorry, at this point it’s a convergent series, and the numbers are not going to rise much above 3% all told.

I have long advocated to get off of the numbers train. It really matters not what the amount or percentage of gay folk are. Either one believes they are entitled to protections or you don’t. The actual amount of persons who might deserve such protections is irrelevant. Other than that, there is no reason to puff up the numbers, save to make someone feel good. The percentage of Jewish persons in US society has been declining for decades and is now about 1.5%. (Former Harvard
Law prof Alan Dershowitz wrote a book about this phenomenon.) At what point do we say that the number of Jewish persons is so small that it is irrelevant and thus the religious or ethnic protections afforded to them should not apply?

Trying to maintain a sense of relevancy by perpetually increasing the identity group population base—along with the requisite acronym—is a dumb game and doesn’t endear the tribes to the larger population. I sometimes wonder if the dopes who keep trying to make the numbers significant enough in their own minds realize that there will never be a time when the minority will be a majority. It’s a little bit like the Blacks thinking they will someday be in the majority in the US. The Latin populations will make sure that doesn’t happen.

  34. First openly gay winter Olympic athlete?

That’s already been debunked, and now Twinkle Blades is trying to downplay his identity politics binge so that people will focus on his recently acquired medal. But that ship has already sailed and his celebrity victimhood has taken over the news coverage. It will be worse if that’s the only medal he ends up winning.

    Comment by RSG — February 14, 2018 @ 11:07 am - February 14, 2018

  35. “And now you can be thrown in jail for using the wrong pronoun on a trannie. Ah, progress.”

Meanwhile, actual members of actual minority groups whose status in such groups is actually based on possessing immutable characteristics, including but not limited to gay people, have no such legal recourse. We are told to suck it up and take it because freezepeach.

Unlike being gay, trans is a choice and a form of ex-gay therapy—if it isn’t, then explain Chastity Bono and Buck Angel—and if the pseudo-religious kind is banned, then the pseudo-scientific kind should be on the same grounds. I will not be gaslighted and blackmailed into supporting eugenics, especially when my own people are being targeted by it. Anyone who is disgusted by their own physical sex is just plain sick, period.
