Most Obnoxious Tweet Ever?

Possibly.

FYI: Shannon Watts used to be a lobbyist for Monsanto. Now, she heads up an anti-gun group funded by Mike Bloomberg. And apparently likes to lecture Jewish women like Bethany Mandel who have received threats from actual Nazis they shouldn’t own a gun because “white privilege.”

This one is also pretty bad, although I don’t know who this Ryan Butcher person is. Shows where the left is… as a people.

  1. I was considering making the effort to put a toe in the ol’ gay dating pool after a looooong time out in the rural, white-bread countryside. After all this toxic-stupidity demonstrated by the SJW gay Left and their Llibertard fellow-travelers I’m starting to wonder about my physical and psychological safety setting-foot in a gay bar after nearly 15-years.

    …These people are craaazey!.

I shudder to think of the concentrated toxic SJW-brew that will be festering in Rehoboth Beach or Provincetown once Spring finally arrives.

Maybe I’ll just play more golf this year.

  2. Examination of a couple of microcosms in the US indicates that Democrats are fighting amongst themselves and having a very big identity problem. They’re not sure whether they want to be Progressive and socialist yet the establishment keeps fighting back hard.

This would be reflected in their civilian population who get the leftover oppo research dregs which they vomit out periodically.

So, we’re going to see a lot of race card boxes opened just for the occasion of the midterms.

  3. I don’t know who this Ryan Butcher person is.

He’s a woke bloke from London who is, at last check, a writer for The Independent. He’s also a Friend Of Dorothy (is that now sexist?). So his lefty cred is secure. But really, how can anyone who grew up in the British Isles be so ignorant of history (or as someone on Twitter pointed out, if you think he was racist, just look at his opponent). Though he was so confident of his point-of-view he protected his Twitter account after the blowback started.

  4. I suspect the Brits don’t teach History in the publically-supported schools. They had a poll in Britain a few years ago and a SHOCKING percentage of younger respondents didn’t know who Sir Winston S. Churchill was…

But then what can you expect when nearly 40% of the population of Greater London weren’t born in the UK.

At the 2011 census London had a population of 8,173,941. Of this number, 44.9% were White British. 37% of the population were born outside the UK, including 24.5% born outside of Europe. – Wikipedia

  5. Hitler would have agreed with them 100%.

And Ted, after living in California and having three relationships with liberals end because of their dishonesty, indecision, and general cowardice has made me even more resolute in my decision to only associate with gay Republicans, and that goes DOUBLE for dating. We need a dating site for gay Republicans only. I’m not kidding about that. Keep the heteros out, keep the trans out, keep the liberals out.

  6. Well, yeah. If you are a fellow Socialist, the guy who stood up to the Progressive darling Adolf Hitler would be a racist warmonger. After all, The Nazis only wanted peace, equality, a generous social contract and plenty of slave labor to support it.

Big difference being they extended their borders to acquire their slaves. Our Progressives have learned to lure them here with food stamps.

  7. …These people are craaazey!

    These people are Communists.

Read their words and believe them. Their version of the dictatorship of the proletariat includes the elimination of class bigotry, the elimination of religious doctrine and the elimination of sentimentalism based on pride and history. To overcome history, the existing structure must be destroyed. The result is a society in which religion, culture, ideology, and individualism play little, if any, role.

The conceit of Communism is that after its murderous rage stage of revolution we will be fixed on the sun will come out tomorrow while we listen to the color of (our) dreams which will bring us all together in one gelatinous puddle of angelic humanity infused with love.

It is the murderous rage stage on which we must focus. It is always the same. The “deplorables” must be beaten into submission or destroyed. Upending the existing order means ridding the populace of all the hateful things that are identified by the Ministry of Hateful Things.

Put more succinctly, the leftist ideology is to eliminate all ideology which does not fit the leftist ideology. When all that remains is leftist ideology, the culture is free of ideology.

How in the world are social justice warriors ever going to make it through the day without hating someone? When everything is just one big circle-jerk of mutual admiration what will be the use of evolution? Isn’t LSD the quicker, better route to take? Lets just make our world one vast opium den that’s fair and bright – Where the handouts grow on bushes – And you sleep out every night – And the sun shines every day – On the birds and the bees – And the cigarette trees – The lemonade springs – Where the bluebird sings …….

Seriously, if the doxology any other religion were predicated on this heaven on earth stuff, it would be laughed out the door.

Communism is a perpetual motion machine fueled by potential. [The definition of “potential” is “ain’t done sh*t.”] Or, as Gertrude Stein put it in Brewsie and Willie: “I just tell you and though I dont sound like it I’ve got plenty of sense, there aint any answer, there aint going to be any answer, there never has been any answer, that’s the answer.”

Liberals are fueled by their emotional sense of righteousness. “People exercise an unconscious selection in being influenced.” (T. S. Elliot) That is to say, they want to be liberal, it pleases them. No thinking required. Ditto Communism.

“Racism” has become an all purpose emotional crutch for liberals. They behold it whenever and wherever they need it to control the conversation by unleashing their emotional sense of righteousness.

It is past time to take the liberal doxology bull by its tail and call the output of its anal sphincter for what it is.

  9. So, did Churchill have racist attitudes?

“I just tell you and though I dont sound like it I’ve got plenty of sense, there aint any answer, there aint going to be any answer, there never has been any answer, that’s the answer.” (see: #7) — Hell, I have no clue what “racist attitudes” means. Neither do you. But you have a never ending, shifting set of convenient, meandering meanings that will drag on until twenty minutes after forever.

    Did he commit war crimes?

If there is a firm consensus on what constitutes “war crimes” then the answer is clearly “yes” or “no.” If you have to ask, then the answer is opinion based and just another silly-ass emotional belly dance.

Did he heroically lead the British during the darkest days of WWII?

Define “heroic” and “darkest days” and stick to the definitions and we can have a go at answering the questions.

Could he be or have done all of these things?

    Maybe. What’s the point?

The link to the Independent article is depressing. Churchill never claimed to be faultless. No historian I ever read thought that Churchill was the son of God.

Only liberals see flaws and warts on their opponents as a scourge and flaws and warts on their own as meaningless. That is why Clinton could screw his daughter on national TV in the cabinet room and liberals would see it as “liberating.” But when Trump is accused fof romping with a woman who is now a jailed hooker in Thailand, the liberals send “journalists” hot-footing to Thailand to get the scoop on the world’s most deplorable reprobate who sullied the poor female. Why would the blather of a jailed hooker be suspect? As a professional woman, her word is every bit as good as that of, say, Elizabeth Warren, Hillary Clinton or Jennifer Lawrence.

That is also why liberals have become loathed. They whore their emotions and shun the truth.

There is classical argument and there is liberal argument. Classical argument is fact based and the rhetoric used in the argument is subjected to the test of syllogistic fallacies of logic. Liberal argument is emotion based and made endlessly futile by constant goal shifting and the pretzel bending of word meaning.

Liberals win their arguments before they open their mouths because their arguments are spurious gushings of sentiments and anyone who attacks warm and fuzzy sentiments is a friggin’ cretan.

Churchill lived and died. Now lesser people than he was are free to pick his bones as The Twa Corbies had it:

‘Ye’ll sit on his white hause-bane,
    And I’ll pike out his bonny blue een;
Wi ae lock o his gowden hair
We’ll, theek our nest when it grows bare.

‘Mony a one for him makes mane,
    But nane sall ken where he is gane;
Oer his white banes, when they we bare,
The wind sall blaw for evermair.’

I wouldn’t be surprised to see soon underground cafes starting to give away Xanax for free to their secret clientele along with the sweeteners, sugar, and cream.

  14. Are people really getting more stupid? Or is it that social media has made stupidity much more visible?

I think some really dumb things now and again but, for the most part, my common sense alerts me to keep the really stupid crap to myself.

Douglas Murray, in “The Strange Death of Europe” discusses the fetish westerners have for hating their cultural inheritance (the good parts in addition to the bad parts).

This is a problem in Europe, Australia, Canada, the US, and New Zealand.

No other culture is expected to contemplate or recognize their sins in addition to their accomplishments. Only western cultures are self-critical.

It’s one thing for a people to be aware of the past (good and bad) and to try, as a society, to not repeat the bad bits but chronic self-flagellation over sins, real and IMAGINED, is demented and will be fatal.

I see that both of these twitter heroes have protected their accounts – I was hoping to see what other nuggets they’ve dropped over the years.

  15. Hi Heliotrope,

“Hell, I have no clue what “racist attitudes” means.”

To help you out here: OK,

Attitude = (noun) a settled way of thinking or feeling about someone or something, typically one that is reflected in a person’s behavior.
Racist = (adjective) showing or feeling discrimination or prejudice against people of other races, or believing that a particular race is superior to another.

Putting these two word definitions together to form the concept might help your understanding. I can help with that if you would like. But, the answer to the question is most likely “yes”, Churchill did have racist attitudes (as so many did back in the day) given the “depressing” evidence that has been offered in the link. If you don’t want to directly acknowledge that, Heliotrope, OK then.

And as for “faultless,” I agree, Churchill is not faultless, not even a saint–but your beef is with V the K (and his hero worship), Heliotrope, not me. You appear to agree with my premise–grumpily and with a lot of hemming and hawing, I might add. You can be a hero in one part of your life, and someone with a lamentable racist attitude elsewhere in that same life. It interests me why you think that we have to put humans up on pedestals so as to “not pick at their bones.” Churchill was a complex man, not an icon to be worshipped.

  16. People sleep peaceably in their beds at night because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

We sleep soundly in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm.

This applies to True Leaders in moments of crisis, warts-and-all. We need them.

  17. Cas read a lot of psychobabble into my comments. But, then, that is what Cas does. Everything is subject to emotion and sentiment for good old Cas. I did not put Churchill on a pedestal nor did I demean him.

Churchill lived, he rose, he fell, he rose, he fell. He led England during WWII and Germany and Hitler were defeated.

The authors who judge how facts unfolded in the past are subjected to the wisdom stated by Henry Ford: “History is more or less bunk. It’s tradition. We don’t want tradition. We want to live in the present, and the only history that is worth a tinker’s damn is the history that we make today.” (Chicago Tribune, 1916).

History reveals what the historian believes and how the historian judges people and events. Ford spoke of history and tradition. His use of the word tradition is akin to folklore.

When Hollyweird crams a person’s life during seven or eight tumultuous years into 120 minutes or so and plots out thousands of camera angles and sets and atmospheres, the resulting film is the character as the director and the actor create and present him. The facts of history may be accurate, but the rest is taffy pulled for effect.

Churchill’s exploits during the Boer War are one fabled tradition of the man. “Churchill’s folly” concerning Gallipoli is another. Yet another is the theory of Churchill and the Lusitania to churn up the conspiracy minded. Churchill had a powerful personality and he triggered fans and detractors alike among his historians. [The Churchill museum in the War Rooms in London give one a powerful personal view of the man during his long and fabled career. The viewer may take away what he likes after viewing it.]

Cas did a RustyCut’nPaste number @ #8. Gossiping about the fame and fate of a person is a parlor game and fairly useless. No matter what, “all the piety and wit” of the observer has zero to do with changing the facts of history.

So, did Churchill have racist attitudes?
    Did he commit war crimes?
Did he heroically lead the British during the darkest days of WWII?
Could he be or have done all of these things?

    Horseshit. Kvetching gets you nowhere.

    Comment by Heliotrope — March 9, 2018 @ 5:58 pm - March 9, 2018

  18. Churchill was “racist” because of his disgust towards Islam (he particularly disliked its treatment of women) and his desire to hold onto the Empire. We’ve seen how well the former British colonies did after their independence; was he really that wrong? About the only thing against holding onto the Empire was unlimited migration to Britain, and the British left both dissolved the Empire AND opened the gates wide to the Third World.

  19. Hi Heliotrope,
I always love the way that you can speak out of both sides of your mouth at once. On the one hand you think history is horseshit. On the other, you claim Churchill as a member of the Pantheon of Great White Men because of his historical exploits. History is cool, as long as we all agree to play it your way and ignore big chunks of things you find disagreeable. Awesome.

    Comment by Cas — March 11, 2018 @ 1:05 am - March 11, 2018

  20. Oh yeah? Where, pray tell, did I “claim Churchill as a member of the Pantheon of great White Men?

Cas, you are infused with nincompoopism.

Churchill was the accident of history. Time and again, intersecting forces elevated him and clocked him. For all I know, his “darling Clemintine” might well have been the better player.

How do you go about reading into my posts what spills out as complementing your own choice of psychosomatic emetics?
