  1. Meanwhile, that paradise of liberal virtues (such as tolerance, inclusiveness, equality, etc) known as Berkeley, CA, is gearing some more loving towards its poor so much that it has to regulate a tiny lil bit further on how the latter is supposed to use the compassionate city’s street vicinity:

  2. @1 I have enough imagination to picture for myself your average 2018 Berkeley bum carefully browsing the 20 or so page long handbook of the city geniuses’ new regulatory corpus, to stay in compliance with their social justice update.

    Nah, gotcha. That’s a lie. I quite don’t.

  3. When you push for living a pathological life, you pathologize your society.

And if enough people do it, that becomes Hell. Really.

  4. Alright, so, the first thing you might want to know about this ideology [postmodernistm/identity politics] is it doesn’t have a shred of gratitude.

And there’s something pathologically wrong with a person who doesn’t have gratitude, especially when they’re bathed in wealth and live in what is so far the best of possible worlds.

If you’re not grateful, then you’re driven by resentment… And resentment is about the worst emotion one can experience, apart from arrogance… Ha! …

    Resentment, arrogance, and deceit.

Here is an evil triad for ya.

  5. @4 dedicated to “Assoc. Prof.” Jason Barker.

  6. On that basis, we are destined to keep citing him and testing his ideas until the kind of society that he struggled to bring about, and that increasing numbers of us now desire, is finally realized.

    — Jason Barker, for the NY Times

Because, ya know, that just isn’t quite enough of testing, already:

    We are in 2018.

    God help us.

  9. BLM and #Metoo embody Marx – or something. The tweet is as far as I could go.

BLM built on a lie and #metoo laying waste to what’s left of male-female interaction. Marvelous.

The left can barely conceal its Jacobin roots.

  10. @9 I concur. I’ll forgive you/anyone avoiding to read the full article.

    But I couldn’t help. So I did.

What JBP said in my 2nd quote of him was premonitory.

  11. The Barker opinion piece is behind the NYT pay wall.

The essence of Barker’s opinion is that all social justice lawyers have Karl Marx to thank for the whole social justice meme.

    He is right.

Since forever, traditional philosophy worked on the basis of opining about the self interest of the individual and about self control.

Then along came Karl and the whole crapwagon about the state organizing individuals into a coalesced force which puts the good of blob first that “reaches out” to drag stragglers into the wonderful world of social justice. And, voila! an egalitarian utopia.

Of course, it is necessary to thin the herd first. Some people just have to be slaughtered. They are too dumb to get with the program.

Anyway, the people who can’t flee Venezuela need to thank Marx. Happy Birthday, Karl. You were right. Even if its just you and General Pussbucket.

  13. I’m sure the associate professor is doing his part by taking a low salary and foregoing any wage increases as well as living communally. This is how he can demonstrate in his life how well it is affected by his beliefs. Just as climate change advocates live as carbon-free as possible without paying for offsets to show their commitment to their beliefs as well.

  17. Marx and Hitler were both German and both depended on the same antisemitic stereotype of the Jew as inherently greedy and evil to support their theories. Only Marxists deny this, which is why Marxist can’t be trusted.

Hitler had more in common with Stalin than with Ronald Reagan.

    Comment by Matthew — May 1, 2018 @ 12:02 pm - May 1, 2018

  18. @17 there is not a smidgen of difference between a Nazi and a Marxist. even though everyone has been taught that Nazism and communism are the opposite ends of the political spectrum nothing could be further from the truth. we all know that Nazism is the ultimate in evil so it’s opposite communism must be the ultimate in goodness. that is what has been taught in American colleges by leftist professors for eighty years. well all you need to do is compare Nazi Germany to communist Russia, try to find a difference. right down to their being allies for a third of world war II. and their alliance wasn’t ended by the communists but by hitler.
as far as marx being anti-jew I don’t know about that, much of the manifesto is based on the Talmud. if you think of the jew as being money hungry and greedy well that was how marx viewed the capitalist businessman. Marxism has been largely a jewish led totalitarian political movement against capitalism and the idea of republican government since marx put the last period in the evil book.

  19. When I hear “the most informed”(*) leftists proclaim there is a not-even-subtle difference between Hitler’s National Socialism and Marxism-Leninism, or Maoism, or Castrism, or Chavism… you name it —

I can’t help but have the itch to reply, hey, genius, and to whose works all these Great Leaders turned to unanimously, on the pretense of defending the working class and the downtrodden with their “scientific” planning —

    Karl Marx or Adam Smith?
