  1. Wow. This has to take the derangement-syndrome award for the year.

Katie Couric merely reports that Sally Quinn, a friend of the Gore family, thinks that the stresses of the 2000 election played a role in causing Al and Tipper to drift apart – and this gets translated into Katie Couric blaming George Bush for the marital problems.

    Truly and simply insane!

  2. As for O’Keefe – this is quite the dud, eh?

The bold young investigative reporter takes on the big bad gubmint, the insidious Census Bureau no less – and what is the grand corruption he finds? He got sent home early from his orientation because they finished the days work, but he got paid as if he was there till 5???

Thats it? That is an example of the type of corruption and waste in the federal government?

Geez, maybe we should compare this to the legacy of the great Republican leader (viewed by some as a potential president) Jack Abramoff. Ol Jack could have probably stole more money in an hour than the Census Bureau wastes all year!

    Comment by Tano — June 2, 2010 @ 1:09 pm - June 2, 2010

  3. And again, Tano’s quick to excuse crimes and fraud for his party.

Of course Tano’s a government worker himself, so he should know all about corruption and waste.

    Comment by The_Livewire — June 2, 2010 @ 1:16 pm - June 2, 2010

  4. No Livewire, I am not a government worker.
And how am I excusing any crime or fraud by merely pointing out its trivial nature.
And how does this have anything to do with “my party”? The Census Bureau is part of the government, and its workers include Republicans as well as Democrats. Are any of the people in the video identified by party?

    Comment by Tano — June 2, 2010 @ 1:28 pm - June 2, 2010

  5. Uhh yea guys this got proved to be FALSE

O’Keefe yet again EDITIED OUT important parts of the footage that show the WHOLE story.

Gay patriot how about you work less on being self hating douchebags and work on HELPING the gay community.

  6. Ah, my mistake… You’re an independent contractor working for the government. I misremembered.

  7. funny DoomsDay,

Maybe you can provide a link or two?

  8. No Livewire, I am not an independent contractor working for the government.
I know you and the other thugs here get all hyped up trying to smear me personally – so if you do, then get your facts straight.
I am an employee of a private business that has a contract with the government.

    Comment by Tano — June 2, 2010 @ 2:14 pm - June 2, 2010

  9. Actually no Tano, I don’t smear you I just use your own words to show how absurd you are.

Do I really need to post the list of times you’ve been spanked?

    Comment by The_Livewire — June 2, 2010 @ 2:17 pm - June 2, 2010

  10. Actually Livewire, I would LOVE too!

You can go on and on about how “Media matters is a liberal site!” all you want, but unless you are going to provide proof that their info is wrong you should just accept this for what it is.

Maddow did the same thing you know.

    Comment by DoomsDay — June 2, 2010 @ 3:47 pm - June 2, 2010

  11. Oh, DoomsDay, you make this too easy!

The clip in question was talking about this:

This is not a big issue here, but when you start doing this enumeration thing, you want to make sure you are watching your miles, OK? Set the odometer and every day record it. Don’t estimate it, don’t guess it. That’s part of their ability to audit you, would be to look at your miles, take a look at the places you went to, if it didn’t add up, you know, they’ll go crazy.

Key problem: Odometers do not measure time, they measure distance.

The reading on an odometer has nothing, zero, zip, zilch, nada to do with time. You could record mileage accurately and still add hours to your timesheet that you didn’t work, as O’Keefe pointed out.

This is hilarious. You know Media Matters and the Obama Party are getting desperate when they start talking about using odometers to do accurate timekeeping. One has to realize that they are talking to Obama puppets like yourself who really don’t know what an odometer is or what it measures, but really, this is getting almost to the point of absurdity.

  12. Depending on the job you may need to record your miles o.O are you daft?

  13. So why does this site ignore the plight of Gays?

    Comment by DoomsDay — June 2, 2010 @ 4:08 pm - June 2, 2010

  14. Depending on the job you may need to record your miles o.O are you daft?

Recording miles wasn’t the problem. Recording time was the problem. On the days O’Keefe pointed out, he wasn’t asked to put false mileage on his timesheet; he was asked to put in false times, and was paid based on this, even though he put no mileage.

And what is the plight of “Gays”? Given that you and Rachel Maddow are shrieking that odometers measure time, my guess is that it has to do with sexual orientation causing severe cognitive impairments.

    Comment by North Dallas Thirty — June 2, 2010 @ 4:12 pm - June 2, 2010

  15. Are you not gay NDT?

    Comment by DoomsDay — June 2, 2010 @ 4:43 pm - June 2, 2010

  16. Let’s see; if being “Gay” means you’re a shrieking leftist moron who listens only to Obama Party propaganda outlets and argues that odometers are used for measuring time, then no.

    Comment by North Dallas Thirty — June 2, 2010 @ 4:51 pm - June 2, 2010

  17. On an individual basis, this is small potato(e)s. But when taking the number of trainees into account, the amount of waist does add up. It would be better if this was set up as a flat salaries position.

The odometer issue is a distraction, and is not relevant to this specific issue. Factoring miles driven into paid compensation is not the same as getting paid per work hour.

Lastly, I think it would be interesting to get an answer to NDT’s question: And what is the plight of “Gays”?

    Comment by Sonicfrog — June 2, 2010 @ 5:15 pm - June 2, 2010

  18. See now I have to go back watch that new link just to see whether or not idiots actually stated that odometers measure time..damn….can’t wait to post this new headline if they actually indicate this. Crimey no wonder the left is spinning so out of control… wow…I think I’m going to have to “change” my name! “Lesbian in the Middle”

  19. The ‘plight’ of gays? Doom, I understand your concerns. Given the administrations constant efforts to reach out to moderate terrorists and their enablers would seem to be a plight to me.

So what’s a ‘moderate’ stance? Crushing only half the gays under walls? Letting women learn up to a 3rd grade level? Cutting your head only halfway off?

    Comment by The_Livewire — June 2, 2010 @ 5:47 pm - June 2, 2010

  20. Zandi expects that only 150,000 of the jobs created in May will come from the private sector, while 425,000 new jobs are sparked by the once-a-decade census. Those jobs are temporary ones that will disappear

… and are being funded with borrowed money, to boot.

Obama’s economy is a Potemkin economy. Government “jobs” funded by bankrupting the country. Unsustainable. I just hope the Democrats are in power when the roof caves in, so the right party – and by that I mean the right governing philosophy; Big Government aka statism aka fascism – will get the full blame.

  21. Well, we only had half hour lunches during our training, but we didn’t really get back to work until, sometimes, 20-30 minutes after that.

We can also get paid for time spent researching addresses on our own at home. I can add an extra hour or two to my day for that. Maybe MediaMorons have a clip about that?

    And we’re only getting $11.75/hr. plus .50¢/mile.

    Comment by ThatGayConservative — June 2, 2010 @ 11:28 pm - June 2, 2010

  22. Oh and we did get paid for 30 minutes travel each way to/from training. I think the farthest person probably took 15 minutes at the most. It took me 10.

We were supposed to work until 1700 each day, but we usually got out about 1645. There was one day I got home at 1645, so we must have gotten out at 1630 or so. The only day we worked until 1700 was the day we went out in the field on the second to the last day of training.

I wonder if MediaMorons has “selectively edited” tape of that.

  23. Oh and I got paid for time and mileage to drive up to the office to correct an error I had made on my payroll paperwork. How many jobs would pay for that?

To be fair, they did offer to send the paperwork to my training location to be fixed. There were two people, though, calling me about this and it didn’t seem that the left hand knew what the right was doing since I told one person one thing and the other didn’t know anything about the previous conversation. I decided to go up there and make sure everything was square ASAP. I found out later that I could be paid for that trip though.

    Comment by American Elephant — June 3, 2010 @ 3:19 am - June 3, 2010

  25. Bruce,

The Obama employment fraud is MUCH worse than this article lets on. Turns out Obama has been hiring Census workers, training them, then firing them, then re-hiring them, sometimes multiple times, so that Obama and Democrats can lie about the number of jobs they “created”

Just like liberal liars always do, the only thing Obama has gotten creative with is the English language. When he says hes created jobs, he means fabricated jobs that don’t really exist.

    Comment by American Elephant — June 3, 2010 @ 3:33 am - June 3, 2010

  26. I think DoucheDay can’t comprehend that there are gays who are not miserable victims like he is.

As to hiring and firing, I probably should have been fired because I haven’t worked my minimum of 20 hours a week. About the time I was going to put in more hours to meet that minimum, I found out that we were running out of work to do and that the best way to keep getting hours was to work slowly. I’ve also heard from the Crew Leader Assistant that folks aren’t getting fired, around here, so much as they’re just not given anymore work to do.

We’re getting paperwork back from the regional office in Atlanta, that wasn’t done correctly the first time. Myself and one other guy are the only ones left from our team. The others finished their work and are gone.

Interestingly, as far as we know, we can get unemployment when we’re done even though we’ve only been working for a month. If true, go figure that one.
