  1. It’s a slap in Mark’s face that McCain, who lionized him as a hero in 2001 could fight against gay marriages with PUSH.

McSame had said: “I very well may owe my life to Mark. He supported me, and his support now ranks among one of the greatest honors of my life. … I love my country, but I cannot say I love it more or as well as Mark Bingham or the other heroes on United Flight 93. I thank him with the only means I possess by being as good of an American as he was.”

So how else do you pay this guy back by fighting against gay marriage? Is that how you honor a hero?

  2. LOL…and here’s where we show how Pinky Bear and his fellow Obama supporters show honor.

Furthermore, silly Pinky Bear, your Democrat Party leftists endorse and support bans on gay marriage all the time, and you claim that’s “pro-gay” and “gay-supportive”.

Isn’t it amazing? Praise a gay person and you get called a homophobe. Be gay and spit on heroes, or be Democrat and support bans on gay marriage, and you get called “pro-gay” and “gay-supportive”.

  3. Here we go again, if you are for preserving traditional marrige you are a hater and a homophobe. Now that Mass. has aproved out of state marriage, and NY will recognize those marriages – looks like we are on the road to legalized gay marriage.
So what will the new gatepost of homophobia be? There has to be one, since there is no way people like Pinky will give up on seeing haters under every stone.

  4. Back on topic, I’m thrilled this movie is being made and I hope it gets wide release – people like Mark Bingham will do more the image of gay people is this world than Pinky ever will with his hatred.

On the topic of Hatred, http://www.ajihadforlove.com/home.html, the movie A Jihad for Love, about the plight of muslim gays will be showing in Los Angeles starting this Friday, for one week at the Laemmle Sunset 5.

I saw it at Outfest, nothing in this country compares to the hate, the pain, the torture that gays go through in the muslim world – sorry, not having the ‘right’ to marry just isn’t the same.

  5. Leah,

You never proved to m,e that Straight People treat Marriage as sacred as they say. What is traditional marriage? One man and one woman for one life? Doesn’t always work that way, does it? Yes, we want marriage and just because it is so called “traditional” doesn’t provide a logical argument against it. It was once “traditional” that women were sold into marriage when they were children and didn’t meet their husbands until the day of their wedding. Is that how you married?

Being a gay man, I reserve the right to point out what homophobia exists.

I never said that the Democrats are anymore holier on the issue of gay marriage. The idea of hegemony of Hetrosexism exists despite political party or ideology. The idea that somehow straight is better is what we have all grow up with. Prejudice is an Equal Opportunity employer.

McSame may say what he wants Bingham but being anti-gay marriage belies any support he might profess. You can’t have it all ways.

There. I fixed it for ya.

  7. #5 – Sorry PB, the “moral authority card” doesn’t work here. I suggest you go trolling at DailyKaka or DemonicUnderwear where they will treat you as the “house nigger” that you crave so longingly.

    Regards,

  8. Once again, Pinky Bear, you have to politicize this.

After watching the trailer last night (well, early this morning) and before posting, I thought to mention that it included a clip of McCain’s speech, but decided against it so as to not risk politicizing this post.

Mark Bingham was a great man, a true hero who showed courage in the hour when it was most needed. I want to praise this hero who happened to be gay, to show him as an exemplar of the kind of men we all should strive to be. And we all includes Republicans and Democrats alike.

All this just goes to the point I’ve made before about your need to attack Republicans. Look to yourself, Pinky, and ask why you must do this. The answer is not in bashing John McCain or whatever Republican happens to be your opposing party’s standard bearer, but in the source of your own rage.

Here’s an issue where we all can agree–Mark Bingham’s greatness. I avoided risking making it divisive by not mentioning John McCain. Yet, you seem to thrive in division.

  9. McSame may say what he wants Bingham but being anti-gay marriage belies any support he might profess. You can’t have it all ways.

Sure you can. As the examples I cited show, you and your fellow gay liberals have no problem with claiming Democrat Party members are “gay-supportive” even when they oppose gay marriage and support bans on it.

Meanwhile, Pinky Bear’s rage is nothing more than projection. He can’t criticize his Democrat massas, so he hurls extra vitriol against Republicans and gays who criticize his Democrat massas.

You never proved to m,e that Straight People treat Marriage as sacred as they say. What is traditional marriage? One man and one woman for one life? Doesn’t always work that way, does it? Yes, we want marriage and just because it is so called “traditional” doesn’t provide a logical argument against it.

Notice how the only “logical” argument that Pinky Bear can give for giving gays marriage is that straight marriages sometimes fail.

What that makes clear is that Pinky Bear’s gay marriage will be the same as a failed straight marriage — based on promiscuity, broken promises, and adultery.

  10. PB is clearly a troll, guys. Possibly a teenager out for fun. Possibly a script, bot, or other computer program written by Ian or some such. Notice the constant disconnect between his/her/its comments and the thread subject matter.

  12. PB — give it a rest. I’m with ILC — you are trolling and a constant divisive commenter.

I strongly suggest you stop throwing bombs and try to be a more productive commenter.

There are a million other places on the internet where you can take your bile and personal anger. I’m not going to put up with it much longer here.

  13. Thank you for the link Leah. I’ll have to watch out for this on DVD to get for my mom. Not that it will help much, she actually believes Moore’s propganda piece about Iraq

  14. People like Mark Bingham and Randy Pausch (the CMU ComSci professor who died of pancreatic cancer the other day) serve as reminders for how a life should be lived.

They bring important lessons to the rest of us.

I imagine that knowing Mark would have been a real treat.

  15. to show him as an exemplar of the kind of men we all should strive to be.

In a perfect world, I’d agree. However, I think folks like Pinko would want a nice, expensive government program to save him.

Which reminds me, where was Algore’s airline security on 9/11, Pinko?

  16. Livewire, it will be a while before the movie is available on DVD. The producers are trying to get it shown in as many public venues as possible.
Unfortunately that means small indy theaters and Gay venues.

Something tells me that it will never get wide release in Great Britain, they have completely capitulated to the worst that Islam has to offer.

  17. Watched the trailer. It does look very interesting; I hope to see it.

Having said that… I noticed that it carefully furthers the idea that jihad == inner spiritual struggle. Something tells me that one minor consequence will be yet another rash of gay lefties claiming that the real (Islamist) jihad is an unimportant aberration, fighting it (to protect our freedom) is unnecessary and shows our lack of leftist enlightenment, blah blah blah.

    Comment by ILoveCapitalism — August 1, 2008 @ 1:34 pm - August 1, 2008

  18. ILC, the reason it states Jihad as an inner spiritual struggle is because, for the people in this movie that is what this is. The movie is about Muslim gays who despite being tortured, imprisoned, being torn away from their families – still find solace and hope within Islam.

They can’t forsake the God they were raised with, despite the fact that many people use Him and His word to do the worst they can to these people.

There is a lot to be said about the human spirit, in this case I can accept that narrow definition of Jihad. Though in the large picture – Jihad is exactly what it means – a fight to the death against the Infidel.
