John Kerry was on one of the talking heads shows this morning, slamming Palin for her “lack of foreign policy experience.” This from the guy whose VP pick was a slip-and-fall lawyer. Aside from getting hair care products from a spa in Milan, what foreign policy experience did John Edwards have?

Lord knows I don’t know a lot about female psychology, but my impression is, women with families will look at Palin and say, “She’s one of us.” Bitter, unmarried women (think Maureen Dowd) will look at her and say, “She’s one of them.”

Folks, all McCain needs is the Bush 2004 base plus a goodly chunk of Independents. If Palin is a good campaigner, then McCain has an exciting, pro-energy, reformist and “historic” ticket… and he wins.

Kevin, as I’ve said many times, I have no problem with womanizing philanderers. Until and unless, that is, they commit perjury.
Also, please note what I said: “Gingrich is stoked about Palin”. In other words: Gingrich reported on *Gingrich’s* emotional state. Will I take Gingrich’s word about Gingrich’s emotional state, over your word about his emotional state? Any day of the week, haha.

Which troll was it who was saying that McCain was out of touch, and working class voters would flock to The Obama? According to this poll, not so much. 62% of “Wal-Mart voters” (people who shop at Wal-Mart once a week or more) are going for McCain. Only 24% support The Obama.

V, that was absolutely brilliant and correct. Palin is a regular woman; Clift, Pelosi, Boxer, Hillary, and others are what you become when you convince yourself it’s normal to loathe a baby growing inside of you because it’s inconvenient or imperfect, and that the right to kill it is the fundamental freedom that should underpin your existence.

And may I say, almost delusionally wrong on his facts.
- Palin has more relevant experience and qualifications for the Presidency than Obama. Andrew is just another penis-who-doesn’t-get-it, trying to dis the chick.
- The economy isn’t “teetering”, it grew at a healthy 3% in the second quarter… no thanks to Democrats.
- He calls Obama, whose Senate voting record is practically Marxist, “the cool conservative”. Watching Sullivan twist and turn as he tries to rationalize Obama’s backward slide in the polls as genius-level “restraint” and “discipline” is ass-licking that must be seen to be believed.

Well, certainly Sullivan has forgotten everything he ought to know (as an alleged gay man) about rational feminism.
OK, by way of Allahpundit… interesting argument from Jonah Goldberg. Here are the key points. McCain-Palin can’t hope to win Hillary’s extreme, feminist-victim supporters. But they can hope to win centrist, Independent women. One way is for Palin to drop all reference to her gender, becoming more of a Margaret Thatcher figure where her gender sort of shouts out silently. (I agree so far.) Another way is for Palin to hit back, more with humor than with anger, at the Left feminists who are now trashing her. “She needs to create a wedge between [far-left] feminists and women… lightly…”
Ann Althouse makes the interesting point that Palin is a more truly independent woman than Hillary, who derived her name and political career from her husband’s.

Both very astute statements. Which is why the feminists are running scared right now, they never gave a hoot about average working women. It was all about the Ivy league, bitter unmarried set. So of course Hillary was their woman – she did what women of old did – slept her way to power.
Sarah Palin has done just the opposite, married a man she truly loves. Had five children, he is more than happy to be a full time dad – and is still very masculine in every way. So all these feminists are throwing all the dirt they can at a woman who did it without them and certainly without their values.

Rush said it best years ago: the feminist movement was started by ugly women. Since Eve lured Adam with the apple women have always used their charms to get what they want. I’m not complaining about this – I’ve done it myself – it’s the way of the world.
But ugly woman didn’t want to play by those rules – so they invented feminism – initially there were successes – but here comes the biggest slap in the face. A young beautiful, married, mother comes along and breaks all the feminist rules – life is so unfair!

ok, I just subjected myself to the whole Sully article, I need shower.
What I find is that innovation, risk taking, new ideas are only allowed on the Democratic side. The Republicans must be staid, boring and conservative.
So along comes Obama, and hiding behind his race – does some pretty audacious things. Note that when Ferraro point out the truth about his candidacy – she is vilified, color always trumps gender.
Of course in the Dems playbook, the Republicans are not allowed to change theirs – even if McCain’s campaign is very astute and is ready to change the rules. So Sully is out there having a temper tantrum, how dare the Republicans do everything in their power to win.
We have no way of knowing if Sarah Palin will do a good job or not, but if John McCain had chosen either Romney or Pawlenty – no one would be talking about it. Ho Hum, politics as usual, the fact that she is garnering so much, ink, hate and discussion is the best thing possible.

As far as feminists go, you should take a gander at pumapac.com and hillaryclintonforum.com. They’re all anti-Oblahblah. They all won’t vote for McCain (though a lot of them will), but they’re determined not to vote for O.
On Friday I was almost dreading McCain’s VP announcement as all of the front runners seemed so usual, run of the mill. When the news break came across my email I was absolutely giddy. I couldn’t believe he chose Palin. I must say JSM has guts, and I think he picked a VP who can equal him in that area.
(I’m an avid reader of GP, but rarely post. Keep up the good work.)

I think Sarah is awesome.
I spent a lot of the weekend on a few Lefty sites..
Alan Colmes has decided to become the Keith Olbermann of Fox.. his blog is obsessed with every intimate detail of Palin’s family sex life.. it’s really disgusting.
He’s getting so many comments back attacking him for being so malicious and he refuses to apologize.
The Left has no idea the backlash their hate is causing.. no idea at all.
Obama does not stand a chance.. and I cant wait to see the faces of every one of this voters as they go into shock when he is crushed.

The Obama campaign never embraced that rumor. To my knowledge, it was brought about by the Daily Kos and that’s about as far as it got.

Replace Obama with McCain, and that sentence will be accurate. Palin’s numbers have been falling, falling, falling ever since people have figured out that she is nothing more than a woman who belongs in a library (purely physical observations, but you see my point)… though, I take that back. She’d probably burn the books!
