Agreed. That is why it is imperative that the liberal wings of both parties be placed into permanent minority status. Both wings were complicit in protecting a recalcitrant President instead maintaining the credit rating of the USA. In the private sector, the CEO would have been booted.

Yes. but where is the Democratic Party stalwart to challenge and/or take-down Obama from being re-nominated? Obama’s traveling about the Nation by Air Force One fly-ins and Presidential motorcades collecting HUGE gobs of Party-faithful cash and expecting the fealty of the faithful as it he has no challenger within the Party.
“Faithful Elector” laws in many of the states will preclude a last-minute floor-nomination of Hillary by the Convention’s state delegations who are locked-in for the first four-to-six rounds of votes. As-much as I don’t like her, she’s perhaps has the most-stature to make meaningful compromises with the GOP if she’s elected. Currently I just don’t see a GOP candidate who’s both doing favorably in the polls, AND who can do the compromises necessary. Maybe Huntsman…maybe Huntsman….certainly not Romney, Bachmann or Pawlenty.
(My spell-check equates “Bachmann” with “Eichmann”, …**shudder**)

Congratulations Comrade Obama. You have managed to do something I thought I would never say: Jimmy Carter is not the worst President in my lifetime.

Once Obama’s former supporters learn the hard way Marxism doesn’t work, they will never go back. The Democrats have removed the mask to reveal their inner Communist with President Obama, Rep. Nancy Pelosi, & Senator Harry Reid.

It all a ploy to justify some serious “wealth redistribution” against the wealth creators of our economy for the benefit of the parasites.

A knowledgeable observer, Niall Ferguson, says our reputation with China is toast: http://www.thedailybeast.com/newsweek/2011/08/07/china-s-view-of-the-debt-debate-america-in-decline.html
And why does it matter?
I don’t expect China to dump their U.S. bonds. But over a period of years – a period starting about, oh, this year – we will feel the pinch, as China stops lending us new money. Same with Japan, who need it for themselves now (reconstruction + tons of old people).

Ted – we do not want a candidate that panders and compromises with the left. Compromises is what has got us into this mess. The so-called “Conservatives” in Washington signed on to many liberal spending first by Bush himself and later Oblahma. All of this in the name of Compromise. I for one am tired of liberal spending sprees and a so-called “Conservative” compromise that goes along with it, rather than sticking up for the fiscal core values. I am no fan of the Extreme Religious Right and their constant attack on GLBT’s, but they are the ones that are for fiscal responsibility. No more spending, no more taxes, and it is time for a balanced budget -even if we have to have a constitutional amendment to achieve it!
