  1. Drudge can try, but there is no way the media is going to blame Obama the way they blamed Bush.

I generally think in natural disasters the reality is that some people are going to be screwed for a while.

When I lived in various southern almost cities I was hit by 3 hurricanes (for 2 of them I was somewhat inland but still in the path). One of them we were without power for a week and in another we were without power for 4 days. The third wasn’t nearly as devastating with wind damage, and power was restored quickly but flooding in the area was a huge problem. I don’t remember blaming Bill Clinton for what was happening. I just remember my neighbors and my family doing what we could with what we had until things were fixed.

I think it is our “I want what I want now” society that makes us think our little grid in the city has to have power right now-as if there aren’t teams working on that. It takes time.

Also, I am a huge fan of mandatory evacuations when it comes to hurricanes-especially for anyone who lives in an area prone to flooding. I am shocked at how many people who live on an Island decided to ride out a hurricane.

However I am curious about the idiot that is the NYC mayor. His city is under water, and its citizens stranded and hungry-and he finds the time to endorse Obama and decides there should be a marathon. I am pretty sure if there was ever an event that should cancel the marathon it would be this one.

But my guess is Bush must be making him do it.

  2. Barack Obama looks desperate & disconnected campaigning in the wake of Sandy; likewise, Bloomberg is likely to earn the wrath of angry NY for a long time. #FAIL

  3. Staten Island was the only borough that gave a majority of its votes to McCain in 2008.

Staten Island is having resources diverted away from it by Obama and Obama Bloomberg to power their media tents and pay off their rich cronies.

This is Chicago politics, folks. Barack Obama is making it clear: government will punish those who vote against him.
