  3. Perhaps related – Kevin D. Williamson on the Dumb Vote: http://www.nationalreview.com/blogs/print/332375

I disagree with his extensive put-down of Jon Stewart, but he has some interesting bits, like his conclusion:

Romney, whatever else you think about him, is somebody who has fed the hungry, clothed the naked, and visited the sick. In [film director Joss] Whedon’s [anti-Romney] view of the world, none of that dirty-handed business is necessary: All that is necessary is that one cast a symbolic vote for the man who promises to care, and to express that care by expropriating money from people you don’t like…

For the Dumb Vote, voting is simply an expression of affiliation, a way of marking one’s membership in the tribe of the compassionately ironic or ironically compassionate or whatever. It is a gesture for people who are absolutely certain that they are right — not because they have any meaningful information, but because they are absolutely certain that the other side is evil, which is why they so quickly and consistently revert to claims of racism against a movement that includes lots of non-white partisans, claims of misogyny against a movement that includes an enormous number of women, claims of aspiring Christian theocracy against a movement that includes a great many non-Christians and that is noted for its affinity with the Jewish state, etc.

  4. Well, the problem is the GOP’s fiscal policies won’t produce economic growth. It’s the same tired old “tax cuts for the wealthy, and screw everyone else” policy that has led to every GOP admin for the last 30 years putting the country into debt.

Because that’s the factual reality – every GOP admin puts the country in debt.

I have an idea, boys! Let’s make up stories about liberals being mean to us and pretend we’re being attacked by Gay Liberals. That we we can distract ourselves and ignore all the antigay prejudice from our fellow republicans including our own families.

  5. As to the Facebook comment – Did its author narcissistically ask anyone who disagrees with him to de-friend him? I should expect not, which would form a flattering contrast against that gay leftie who did.

  6. I know it’s hard to see all those gay liberals whose families love and support them choosing to do the right thing, when your own republican families won’t.

I know you need to work hard to make things up and create a world of lies because the reality that your own parents and siblings care more about “getting the black liberal out of office” than about your worth as a human being is a devastating emotional blow.

I know that the only thing you can do to get your bigoted families off your backs is to constantly denigrate and distance yourselves from Gay Liberals.

But the reason the GOP continues to run incredibly anti-gay campaigns, and is currently with Romney/Ryan running the most anti-LGBT Republican campaign platform in years – is because of you gay republicans.

But I understand that to win back the tolerance of your families you need to parrot their racism, their unintelligent buzz-terms they picked up from fox news, and apologize for being gay. Because everyone knows your families don’t actually love you as gay men. They tolerate you, but only as long as you refuse to ever grow a spine and stand up for yourselves.

So I just want you all to know that millions of straight liberals are standing in solidarity with the lGBT Community, and will work hard to do everything your own parents never have, and never will, do for you.

    You’re welcome.

  7. My emotional satisfaction means more than your ability find a job,

Economy is steadily improving. Mitt Romney thinks his being elected will instill people with so much confidence the economy will begin growing automatically, simply by virtue of his mere presence. His jobs plan is mostly a secret, but, at least when he’s speaking to conservative audiences, he’s actually suggested cutting millions of jobs by implementing massive spending cuts and shutting down government agencies and programs.

the security of our diplomats abroad

Have to leave this one alone. I can’t. It’s just too stupid.

, your right to make your own healthcare choices,

Obamacare has empowered millions of people who were previously uninsured to start making healthcare choices when previously that was not even an option. The private healthcare system that the free market came up with has become too expensive and it was leaving millions of people behind. People that had healthcare before have continued on with uninterrupted care, and no one has ever been prevented from making their own healthcare choices.

On the other hand, Paul Ryan would kindly like you to do him a favor and raise the baby if you’re impregnated during a rape. Actually, he doesn’t want to ask you, he wants to command you to. But let’s pretend that this doesn’t count as interfering with a person’s healthcare chocies.

your right to pass your estate in full to your beneficiaries, the economic future of your youth, and your right to the fruits of your own labor.”

BS at least it hasn’t in my neck of the woods and my groceries and my energy bills are still high while I making do with less from the part time job I got to replace the one that I lost through downsizing.

As for abortion-as a woman I absolutely hate the idea that if a man is opposed to abortion (be he straight or gay) that he somehow doesn’t have a right to that position.

In response to your “what about all the women who want to have abortions” I will just say “what about the innocent babies ripped out of their mother’s womb because they were deemed inconvenient?”

This economy sucks. Obama can tell me it is improving, but he has had 4 damn years to do something, but instead he sat around with his thumb up his butt and pointing the finger at those mean old republicans who he basically told to take a hike on the stimulus and healthcare because “I won.”

The private healthcare system that the free market came up with has become too expensive and it was leaving millions of people behind.” Comment by Levi — November 3, 2012 @ 12:42 pm – November 3, 2012

Levi’s comment exposes another enduring truth about liberals: they claim to be the most caring, compassionate, charitable and loving people on Earth, but in reality they couldn’t care less about actual individuals. Their entire worldview is about groups–groups that they unilaterally define and to which they arbitrarily assign membership prerequisites. The groups they claim to love and care about are merely symbols/tools that they use to justify their fascist/oppressive policies, and the groups they hate serve essentially the same purpose. In fact, most of the groups they hate don’t actually exist and are merely strawman targets they’ve invented and inflated into monolithic proportions (e.g., racists, the “Religious Right”, violent “Teabaggers”, etc.). Similarly, some of the groups they claim to love don’t yet exist (e.g., the “future generations” they supposedly want to–and can–save from an imminent global climate change apocalypse).

As can be seen above, Levi claims to base his support for Obamacare on his concern for “the uninsured” and the “millions of people” left behind by the free market healthcare system, but he dismisses the brutal slaughter of four Americans LEFT BEHIND in Libya (and subsequent cover up) as “too stupid” to merit his consideration. Thus, his stated concern for the uninsured and people purportedly “left behind” by the American healthcare system is utter horsesh*t. People like Levi who cavalierly dismiss the Benghazi scandal don’t give a fu*k about anyone but themselves and the leftist agenda. Moreover, if Levi really cared about uninsured individuals “left behind” by the American healthcare system, he’d be willing to hand over his own money to help those individuals pay their medical expenses, but I’m certain there’s not a single person on this blog (or in Levi’s life, for that matter) that would ever believe he’s capable of such charity.

Consequently, it’s perfectly logical to conclude that Levi’s support of Obamacare is motivated by a desire to oppress/punish the groups he HATES, e.g., the “rich”, the “1%”, the “greedy”, Christians, Mormons, Catholics, the productive, Republicans and conservatives generally, etc. Virtually NOTHING liberals do is motivated by love or compassion–it’s always about hate, power and/or revenge.

  29. #8: “How about a woman’s right to choose? Heliotrope, here’s more of that liberal “projection” you mentioned. VeetoTHAk’s comment above assumes that pro-life conservatives are as hypocritical and dishonest as liberals are–that pro-life women would simply throw their beliefs and principles out the window and have abortions if homosexuality could be predicted scientifically in the womb. But it’s pure projection, of course, both in theory and reality.

By definition, conservative principles don’t “evolve” or fluctuate based on varying, individual circumstances (that’s a liberal trait), and in reality–a perfect example is Sarah Palin’s decision to have Trig despite knowing early in her pregnancy that he would likely have Down’s Syndrome. Neither she (nor millions of other pro-life women who have faced such circumstances like my partner’s sister) rationalized making an exception to their pro-life beliefs and had an abortion. And of course, we saw how viciously the Left attacked Palin for daring to follow her principles–she was condemned for NOT being a hypocrite and taking the easy way out by having an abortion. (The Left can’t stand it when people don’t act and make choices consistent with the cynical, evil, hypocritical, nihilistic world they’ve invented in their heads.) That isn’t to say that all conservative, pro-life women are infallible or that none of them have ever violated their stated principles and had an abortion–some likely have. But the way VeetoTHAk has presented it–that pro-life Christian women hate gays so much that it trumps their opposition to abortion–is ignorant, bigoted, baseless slander.

The reason for all of this projection is so that VeetoTHAk doesn’t have to acknowledge the truth: that in a world where homosexuality can be predicted in the womb, it will be pro-choice, abortion-on-demand liberal women that will be aborting gays by the millions; not pro-life conservative women.

    Comment by Sean A — November 3, 2012 @ 7:14 pm - November 3, 2012

  30. We should also remember that Levi’s obsession over women’s “right to choose” has to do with the fact that he and his fellow liberal men see nothing wrong with coercing women into sex, having sex when either partner is drunk, or “forgetting” his condoms.

This is why I laugh every time I hear Levi and his fellow liberals shriek about “women’s rights”. If Levi and his fellow liberals actually respected “women’s rights”, they wouldn’t be forcing women into situations where their only choice was to abort. But as we see from the HIV/AIDS epidemic, Levi and his fellow liberals are too stupid, lazy, and malicious to be responsible, and instead want everyone else to clean up their messes for them.

Meanwhile, as for Little Kiwi, his parents do what they do less out of acceptance than they do giving into his screaming fit that he will kill himself unless they do what he says.

  32. #30: “This is why I laugh every time I hear Levi and his fellow liberals shriek about ‘women’s rights’. If Levi and his fellow liberals actually respected ‘women’s rights’, they wouldn’t be forcing women into situations where their only choice was to abort.”

It really is laughable, NDT. Liberals don’t give a rip about ‘women’s rights’ or ‘women’s health,’ and the purported GOP ‘War On Women’ is a desperate political strategy that they know is pure smear and projection. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have invited Bill Clinton (a man who has spent his entire adult life abusing, oppressing, harassing, and assaulting women) to be the keynote speaker at their national convention and have him bouncing around the battleground states desperately begging for votes for Obama.

There is no GOP ‘War On Women’ which is why dishonest losers like Levi have to rely on ludicrous distortions and lies to try to back it up. For example:

#7: “On the other hand, Paul Ryan would kindly like you to do him a favor and raise the baby if you’re impregnated during a rape. Actually, he doesn’t want to ask you, he wants to command you to.”
    Comment by Levi — November 3, 2012 @ 12:42 pm – November 3, 2012

Levi embarrasses himself with this kind of dishonest hyperbole because to him, there really is no distinction between a woman carrying a child to term and giving it up for adoption versus being compelled to raise it to adulthood. Both scenarios would complicate Levi’s ability to lead a consequence-free, sexually-irresponsible lifestyle, so they’re essentially the same. That’s why he’s fine with lying about Paul Ryan’s position on the issue.

Incidentally, I’m quite certain Paul Ryan would never support a law requiring a woman to raise a child she doesn’t want (versus giving it up for adoption) because the only thing worse than a child being aborted, would be condemning it to be raised by a liberal.

    Comment by Sean A — November 3, 2012 @ 9:07 pm - November 3, 2012

  33. Sorry if this is inappropriate, but whenever I read these heated discussions revolving around conservatives’ mistreatment of women, I always recall that the only confirmed kill in the “War on Women” belongs to Ted Kennedy. And no… I will not “let it go”. The Kennedy clan is a study in liberal hypocrisy. Neither will I let Benghazi go. I might believe that Obama and/or his State department simply didn’t understand how much danger there was. But there is NO EXCUSE save a coverup attempt to explain the “Mohammed Video” story that was told for weeks following the attack. And now they try to cover up the coverup. Add it to the list. The ever-growing list.
