  1. Today, many gay Americans will vote (or have already) enthusiastically for Mitt Romney in large part because of his long-ago evolution on not being narcissistic and caring about bringing about a better nation for ALL Americans.

  2. Why gift-wrap cynicism with the term ‘evolution’?

  3. Dan, this is why conservatives do not count Log Cabin Republicans or GOProud as real conservatives or federalists. You’re progressives/libertarians.

  4. Oh Dan, it doesn’t matter if The Great Leader does anything or not on the issue! He believes in same-gender marriage and he said so! For many of Teh Gheys, that was like Sally Field winning an Oscar: “He likes us! He really, really likes us!” And really, isn’t that what it’s all about?

Never mind that Bill Clinton once said: “I have a vision of the future, and you’re part of it.” Or that he’s the one who gave the USA the policy now known as Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell. While I assume every LGBTQXYZ delegate at DNC 2012 was seal-clapping his praise of his wife’s former rival, I doubt they were remembering what he actually did for Teh Gheys.

Here’s a primer on how it works: Democrats = “Just tell us you love us!”; Republicans = “PROVE you’re not going to send us to concentration camps! (And you can’t, so don’t even bother trying.)”

  5. The Narcissist in Chief only supported gay marriage to get gay money.

Now that he has the gay money he will go back to doing very little on the issue.

  6. Not only will he do nothing; he will blame the OTHER side for his doing nothing.

“It’s Bush’s fault. They won’t let me. whine, whine, whine”.

Jeeez, have some folks learned nothing in the last 4 years?

  7. Dan, for years you’ve been telling me that your preferred course of action would be for state legislatures to legalize gay marriage. Whenever I pointed out that you could also legalize gay marriage through the judicial and executive branches, you disagreed and said that the only good way to do it would be to have the state legislatures legalize it on a state-by-state basis. You cited concerns about judicial activism and executive authoritarianism and invoked the will of the people over and over again. Remember?

Now you’re going to complain about Obama not getting more involved. Well then, you’re contradicting everything you’ve ever said on the subject of gay marriage. Your position, pretty specifically, was that people in positions like Obama should have nothing to do with making the change whatsoever, so what do you really have to complain about? I’ve been reading your posts for a few years now, and at least on the issue of gay marriage, Barack Obama is your perfect candidate in that he supports gay marriage but is leaving it up to legislatures to decide the issue. What is there for you to disagree with? Are you even trying to be consistent?

  8. Perhaps Dan realizes that voting based on a single aspect of someone’s platform is fairly useless. Do you think a pro-life conservative would run to vote for Obama if he suddenly announced that abortion is murder and Roe v Wade should be overturned? Um, probably not…

  9. Now you’re going to complain about Obama not getting more involved. Well then, you’re contradicting everything you’ve ever said on the subject of gay marriage.

Ah, and here we go with the manipulative liar Levi trying to spin and deflect.

Here’s the problem, Levi; you screamed and complained that it WAS the executive’s job. You screamed and complained that Dan was wrong for saying it wasn’t. You insisted that any executive/judge who didn’t take action did so only out of malice and hate for gay people.

    And Obama hasn’t done it.

So rather than deal with that, which was the point of this post, you attacked and tried to smear Dan as a liar for not being consistent, when in fact you and your fellow Obama supporters have been completely hypocritical.

This is the classic abuser pattern. You and your fellow liberals take advantage of the fact that people like Dan are decent and willing to accept that they could be wrong about something. However, what has to be kept in mind is that you, being a bigot and liar, will NEVER reciprocate. You are simply trying to exploit what you see as a weakness in conservatives, which is that we are introspective and willing to accept that we might not be right, to get your way.

You are an abuser, Levi. You are also a hypocrite. If Dan chooses to answer, it will be proof that he is a morally and intellectually superior individual to you, because you have repeatedly demonstrated that you are incapable of following your own standards. Your actions are out of malice.

So, apparently, whether or not you are conservative is determined solely based on whether or not you support gay marriage. Got it.

You’re right. I do think Obama should be working on legalizing gay marriage, and I think that it’s hypocritical and cowardly of him to say he supports gay marriage, accept the cash and the votes, but then not do anything about it. If I were an optimist, I might say I hold out hope that he’s been saving it for his second term to avoid the political fallout, but that’s something we’ll have to see about.

I deal with it fine. And I don’t see Dan mentioning anywhere that he was wrong. It appeared to me like he was going for a quick criticism of the president and was counting on nobody remembering what are his actual, stated beliefs about legalizing gay marriage. As I said, in Dan’s view, Barack Obama is the perfect President on this singular issue, because he’s an executive that supports gay marriage that doesn’t do anything about it. So when Dan argues that gays/liberals should be critical of the President (we should), I’d say it’s worth reminding everyone what Dan thinks. He’s being critical of the President not for what he does or doesn’t do, but because of who he is.

    No you don’t, Levi.

Because if you did, you would be denouncing Obama as a bigot just like you demand that Republicans do.

You’re just lying and spinning now because it’s blatantly obvious that your Obama and your Obama Party lied to buy votes and donations.

    And this was particularly hilarious.

I deal with it fine. And I don’t see Dan mentioning anywhere that he was wrong.

    Nope, you don’t.

Instead you scream and cry and try to blame Dan instead of being a man and admitting that your Obama, by your own standards, is a lying bigot who is not fit to hold public office.

No one expects better of you, Levi. By now everyone here has realized that you’re really nothing more than a wannabe fascist who thinks that, by sucking up to the Obama Party, you will be put into a position to steal from others.

As I referenced here some four years ago, you’re neither North Dallas nor Thirty.

You’re simply Lower Castro Forty. So take your sweet derision and return to being a gay-sex conservative (all talk, all sex, no commitment, no monogamy).
