Some Vids

Conservatives form their positions on the basis of reason, science, and history. Leftists form their positions based on feelings and rhetoric.

The long video at this link demonstrates this fact. Canadian academic Jordan Peterson debates Feminist media operative Cathy Newman. Jordan consistently relies on empirical data and the scientific method to defend his positions, such as his position that the differences between women are products of evolution, not the patriarchy, such as his position that the “wage gap” is not entirely a product of the patriarchy discriminating against women, but rather reflects on the choices men and women make. The media operative can only spout rhetoric, make accusations, and try to trap him semantically.

And here is another video of Camille Paglia explaining her thesis that cultural celebrations of androgyny and transgenderism and attacks on masculinity are harbingers of cultural and societal collapse.

The Deep State Continues to Push Feminist Dogma

So, we are a full year into PDT’s presidency, and despite the dire warnings from the gay left, gay people have yet to be marched to the death camps in the Pacific Northwest set up under the Bush Administration.

Nope, rather to the contrary, the Deep State is spending over a half-million taxpayer dollars to study “gender identity issues” in Kenya, because apparently a feminist told them that terrorism was caused by “toxic masculinity.”

The grant proposal blames Kenya’s “patriarchal” society of “tough, heterosexual” men for problems facing the developing country.

“Kenyan males are expected to head the household as well as provide for, protect, and maintain the family,” the department continued. “Socially, males are expected to be tough, heterosexual, aggressive, unemotional, and achieving. The practical and social pressures to fulfill these expectations can be immense and create vulnerabilities that are exploited by violent extremist groups who appeal to these characteristics and offer the opportunity to fulfil [sic] these roles.”

Really? Because that whole thing about men heading their households, protecting and maintaining their families (“toxic masculinity”) has been the social norm for most cultures for all of human history, and still is in a lot of places (Japan, Korea, the redder parts of the United States) that are notable not only for their lack of terrorism, but for their lack of systemic dysfunction compared with more progressive and feminized parts of the world (Germany, California, Sweden, Detroit).

Masculinity is not toxic; the belief in Islamic Supremacy is toxic.

There’s nothing like a Feminist Womym’s March to make you feel good about the choice you made to be gay. Not as many pink pussy hats this year, because they offend the chicks-with-dicks crowd, but still plenty of proof that modern feminism is nothing but a cult of deranged man-hatred.

First off, a sentiment I think every gay man can relate to. And, in her case, most straight men.

And this time around, they added race-hatred to the man-hatred. (Hating white people is the new “Equality for all.”)

I wonder which struggle she is referring to. The struggle to find pants in a 48 waist or the struggle to walk ten yards?

Oh, boy, these dingbats again.

I don’t even wanna know what this chick’s deal is.

Truly, the message of feminism remains as potent and coherent as ever.

The Authoritarian Progressive Impulse

Exra Klein, the left-wing editor of the left-wing Vox.com, thinks China’s one-party authoritarian state is a more inspiring model for aspiring countries than America’s loud messy constitutional Republic.

Imagine you’re a small country charting a path between Chinese-style autocracy and American-style democracy — which many are right now. How appealing does our model look to you at the moment?

Certainly, if you’re part of the ruling, political class in those countries and you want to crush your opposition and send them to camps, China looks pretty good. If you’re not part of the ruling class and you aspire to improve your condition and take control over your destiny, America would look better. It’s bitterly clear which of these Mr. Klein identifies himself with.

Mr. Klein loves authoritarianism because Democracy keeps thwarting the Grand Vision of the coastal elites; which for someone like Ezra Klein means imposing one-party progressivism on the entire country: A centrally-planned political economy, Canadian-style bureaucratized health care, a “social justice” based legal system, open borders with instant citizenship, outlawing the private ownership of firearms, and all the other elements imposed from above by those who think they know what’s best for everybody.

But their dreams keep getting thwarted or at least compromised because too many people don’t want to live in their progressive utopia. Some people like the opportunities of the free market and have seen how planned political economies have failed. Some people think that their culture is worth preserving against an onslaught of third world migrants importing theirs. Some people just resent bureaucratic busybodies telling them what to do; it’s what most of our ancestors left other places to get away from.

The place in America that has come closest to realizing Ezra Klein’s Authoritarian Progressive dream is the state of California. Through the mass import of third world culture coupled with progressive authoritarian power grabs, California has effectively become a one-party ultra-progressive state. And the authoritarian impulse runs strong, such that the California Attorney General has declared his intention to prosecute citizens for aiding the Federal Government in enforcing democratically enacted immigration laws. Authoritarian progressives in California are also scheming to confiscate the proceeds from the recent Trump enacted corporate tax cuts.

The type of authoritarianism espoused by Mr. Klein has never resulted in the utopia of his dreams; rather it tends to produce conditions allegedly described by President Trump in a colorful metaphor used in a private meeting on immigration policy.

Which is exactly what happened.

Trump’s Honesty Liberates Us from the Shackles of Political Correctness

Andrew Klavan on the blunt force trauma that is Trump’s honesty.

Enter President Donald Trump. He is a rude and crude person. He speaks like a Queens real estate guy on a construction site. And because he does not have good manners, he thoughtlessly breaks the rules with which the Left has sought to muzzle those who disagree with them. In this regard, I frequently compare Trump to Randle Patrick McMurphy, the loudmouthed, ill-mannered roustabout from Ken Kesey’s brilliant novel One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. McMurphy comes into an insane asylum controlled by a pleasant, smiling nightmare of a head nurse named Ratched. Nurse Ratched, while pretending to be the soul of motherly care, is actually a castrating, silencing tyrant. Her rules of good manners, supposedly fashioned for the benefit of all, are really a system of mental slavery. All of McMurphy’s salient character flaws suddenly become heroic in the context of her oppression. Only his belligerent ignorance of what constitutes good behavior can overturn the velvet strangulation of her rule.

For Nurse Ratched, read Hillary Clinton, CNN, the New York Times, Yale University, Twitter, and Google/YouTube–all the tender ministers of polite silence and enforced dishonesty. If Donald Trump’s boorishness crashes like a bull through the crystal madhouse of their leftism–well, good. It’s about time.

He could have added NeverTrumpers like Jeff Flake and Bill Kristol to that list as well. Trump may or may not have said that Haiti and certain African countries were trous de merde, but supposing he did, it was in line with Trump’s politically incorrect way of characterizing situations accurately — if crudely — instead of using the politically correct euphemisms of the political class.

Trump speaks the truth bluntly, and it drives his detractors insane. Witness New Jersey Senator (and Obama-wannabe) Cory Booker’s meltdown in the senate where he cried like an emo girl over the alleged characterization of Haiti as a trou de merde. (Booker knows a thing or two about s-holes, having once been Mayor of Newark; a city that was such a s-hole he apparently didn’t live in it during his time as mayor.) [Also, NJ is a s-hole state that will send you to prison for having a locked and unloaded pistol in the trunk of your car because “common sense gun laws.”)

The left, in the 2016 election, routinely mocked Trump supporters over the supposed absurdity that the Billionaire Trump could relate to the working class. Trump was talking about bringing back jobs and making communities safer. The Democrat Left was talking about importing more Syrian “refugees” and mandates for transgender bathrooms. And they accused Trump of being out of touch.

The Democrats have nothing to offer the American middle and working class. More and more see through the Democrats’ redistribution schemes, that the higher taxes do not pay for better services, but only increase the armies of bureaucrats. The Democrats need Government-dependent third world migrants to pad their voter rolls. This is the truth, but they can’t admit to it. So they demagogue on race.

“The Democrats always demagogue race. They cannot debate issues. They have no agenda in dealing with the problems that Americans face.”

I would only add that the Republican Establishment also does not have much of an agenda for the middle class. The Democrats are used to cowing establishment Republicans like the Bushes with charges of “racism,” and watching them cringe and fall in line. It doesn’t work with Trump. It’s driving them crazy.

Coping Skills

Obama’s ambassador to the UN invited a bunch of her fellow feminist dingbats to an Election Night victory party in November 2016. It didn’t quite work out the way they had hoped. In fact, these “strong, independent women” have been dealing with PTSD as a result of their Election Night loss ever since.

“It’s like we’ve somehow collectively landed in this place, but the people who are going to feel this, and be affected by this are these innocents. And as it happens, I was looking at a young child, but there’s so many other innocents who are being subjected to the cruelty, as we speak here today,” Power said.

She added, “But yes, I think that scene moves viewers the most because it triggers, I think, a kind of post-traumatic stress about their own election night experience, which mirrored mine.”

She should travel down to Walter Reed Hospital and talk to some veterans about coping with PTSD. I am sure they will welcome her insight.

Is it just me, or does Samantha Power look like a transgendered Sen. Jeff Flake? MTF mid-transition. The hormones have kicked in but the surgery hasn’t been scheduled? That sounds about right.

Trous de Merde

This is southern California. Orange County. 2018. A monument to the success of illegal immigration and socialism in a state that brags about being the worlds 6th or 8th largest economy.

Millennials Are Problematic

‘Friends’ the nineties sitcom mainstay has come to UK Netflix. Apparently, some of the precious little snowflakes can’t handle its “problematic” “racism” “homophobia” and “transphobia.”  Por ejemplo:

Chandler was increasingly uncomfortable with his sexuality in the earlier seasons of Friends, and was horrified when he discovered that a lot of women assumed he was gay when they first met him.

In one scene a co-worker tries to set Chandler up with a man and the rest of the episode is dominated by his obsession with proving that he’s straight.

He even uses his friend’s grandmother’s funeral as an opportunity to hit on a woman to prove that he’s not gay.

The scenes haven’t stood the test of time, with one saying they ‘can’t get over’ the homophobic undertones of the episodes. One tweeted: ‘It’s crazy to watch Friends on Netflix now and realize how homophobic and misogynistic the show really was.’

No wonder Generation Z hates the Millennials.

It’s almost as absurd as leftists trying to claim Haiti isn’t a sh-thole.

I’ve been watching some reruns of Absolutely Fabulous. Another nineties sitcom that would probably send social justice wankers into paroxysms of virtue signaling faux outrage.

“We’re trying to invent a new way of being, feeling, thinking, seeing and being seen,” the choreographer Moriah Evans said of her spooky new dance, “Figuring.” “There’s more of an interest in sensation.” In the dance, @mosnave explores minuscule movements that start from deep inside the body before moving out. They’re triggered by different energetic approaches: One, for instance, taps into vibrations. In this video, she said, her dancers show “a few of the emergent structures — you might call them mini-events — that are part of our practice and that will be in the piece.” Included in the daring @americanrealness festival, “Figuring” is performed this week by Nicole Marie Mannarino (in pink), @percivalpilates (in mustard) and @lizziefeidelson (in blue) at the industrial, cavernous @sculpturecenter in #LongIslandCity. Set to a score by @sapropelicpycnic, the work also has political underpinnings, and is a reaction to the current political climate. It’s “a real investment in making a feminist piece that empowers women’s bodies,” Moriah told the @nytimes writer @giadk. “There are so many ways to sense beauty.” @mosadek made this video for #SpeakingInDance, our weekly series exploring the world of #dance.

That’s what happens when “art” is made by people getting Government grants. When art actually has to appeal to people, you get… stuff like this. (Seriously, these guys make Michael Jackson look like the two women spazzing out in “Figuring.”)

Pink Pussy Hats are symbols of hatred of transwomyn and oppression of womyn of colour and possibly fatal to transwomyn of colour. (This link activates a really obnoxious autoplay file and Archive IS choked on the url.)

The Women’s March is back in 2018 with its Power to the Polls anniversary protests on the weekend of Jan. 20-21. The focus during this Women’s March reboot is to register more women to vote, and to elect women and progressive candidates to public office.

But this time when marchers take to the streets in cities from Lansing to Las Vegas, there could be fewer pink pussyhats in the crowds.

The reason: The sentiment that the pink pussyhat excludes and is offensive to transgender women and gender non-binary people who don’t have typical female genitalia and to women of color because their genitals are more likely to be brown than pink.

“I personally won’t wear one because if it hurts even a few people’s feelings, then I don’t feel like it’s unifying,” said Phoebe Hopps, founder and president of Women’s March Michigan and organizer of anniversary marches Jan. 21 in Lansing and Marquette.

Google and the Left Wing Cult

Based on the documentation provided as part of James Damore’s discrimination suit, Google operates as a cult of left-wing progressives who promote an environment of hostility against conservatives, Republicans, Trump supporters, and white men. The Federalist has a summary, but here’s a few to give the flavor of the thing.

“Google furnishes a large number of internal mailing lists catering to employees with alternative lifestyles, including furries, polygamy, transgenderism, and plurality, for the purpose of discussing sexual topics. The only lifestyle that seems to not be openly discussed on Google’s internal forums is traditional heterosexual monogamy.”

A footnote next to the word “plurality” adds: “For instance, an employee who sexually identifies as ‘a yellow-scaled wingless dragonkin’ and ‘an expansive ornate building’ presented a talk entitled ‘Living as a Plural Being’ at an internal company event.”

[Google Manager Kim] Burchett once proposed creating a list she would personally manage of “people who make diversity difficult,” to include employees who did things like make statements “unsupportive of diversity.” She suggested the list could serve as a punishment that could incentivize “better” behavior among the offenders listed.

“You can’t support Donald Trump without also supporting his racism, misogyny, homophobia, and transphobia,” a Googler wrote in a lengthy communication on Trump supporters. “Or even worse, if you vote for Donald Trump because of his economic policy or because you feel the other party is corrupt, then what you’re saying is that economics is more important than the safety of your peers. This is where my tolerance ends: with intolerance.”

I don’t think this situation is unique to Google – it’s likely quite common at Silicon Valley tech firms. Google management actively encourages its left-wing progressive employees to gang up on those who don’t share their cult-like fixation on “diversity,” socialism and encouragement of sexual deviance. BadThink at Google will get an employee cut off from opportunities for advancement, but blacklisted in the insutry, and even threatened in their private lives. (Sounds more than a little bit like Scientology.)

Oh, by the way, the Progressive-Left wants all of society run according to this model.  Discrimination against those who hold “politically incorrect” viewpoints (wrongthink), punishment for wrongthink, networks of informers to report on people for wrongthink, and ultimately violence against those who hold wrongthink.

Everybody loves a good “bad driver” story.

Here’s the scene: An intersection with stoplights with turning signals. Four lanes on each side of the road — left turning lane, two through lanes, right turning lane.

I pull on to the roadway from the shopping center a few hundred feet from the intersection and stop behind a black Dodge Charger that, in turn, is stopped behind a white vehicle. The light is red and there is no cross traffic at that moment. The Black Charger whips into the right turn lane and then (left) into the intersection (crossing) a total of seven lanes of waiting vehicles not to mention potential cross-traffic to perform what I call the “Hillary Hook”: extremely careless but not somehow grossly negligent. The success of the Hillary Hook depends on everyone else obeying the law while your conduct is so outrageous that people are frozen into inaction.

No doubt if the act had actually been observed by law enforcement a stop would have been made and a citation issued. Of course, that is, unless the driver actually was Hillary.

And Another Example…

Gay dude raised as a Democrat dogma drone starts thinking for himself, personally experiences the failures of Democrat policies, realigns as Republican. When he comes out as Republican, his Democrat family and friends reject him. (HT: Runningrn)

When, in my adulthood, the liberal policy agenda became problematic for me, I found myself at a loss. I began to raise questions with my family and friends, and met resistance. It was not because my concerns were particularly inappropriate; I was just not supposed to be questioning at all.

One could disagree with nuances, but not the judgment of the (then) president, or the party. Period. The irony of this apparent intolerance for diversity of thought by the party claiming to champion the rights of groups underserved by the status quo was not lost on me.

For the first time in my progressive life, standing up for the values that I most strongly espouse—truth, morality, self-reliance, boundaries, tolerance, and a healthy dose of Jewish skepticism—was damaging my reputation and character. When I publicly opposed my dad’s support of the Iran deal, I was admonished. I had few friends with whom I could have a civil political conversation: one stopped all communication with me for two weeks because Trump won the presidency.

If Republicans are bad, Trump is nothing less than Satan embodied. Post-election family gatherings devolved into group Trump-bashing, which intensified as more rumors of my dubious views wafted across town. I did not even bother going to gay pride because it was fused with a Resist march. If you do not want to impeach our president, you have no place in gay life.

I was labeled a white supremacist by a friend I’ve known my entire life, and completely dropped with no explanation by another dear friend and self-anointed giant of the gay civil rights movement to whom my father had introduced me 15 years ago.

If the left were secure that their policies worked and their ideas were the right ones, would they have so much hostility toward people who question them?

Progressives: Sugar Is Bad, Heroin Is a Personal Lifestyle Choice That We Don’t Want to Judge

Posted by V the K at 8:44 am - January 10, 2018.

In its purest form, social progressivism means using public funding to provide Viagra to people with AIDS so they don’t have badfeels about not being able to have sex. Seattle, the booby hatch on Puget Sound, is planning on spending two million dollars to help heroin users shoot up (They are calling their tax-funded shooting gallery, in a beautiful exercise of Orwellian Bureaucratese a “‘Community Health Engagement Location.”) while simultaneously charging a “sugar tax” on beverages. Because progressive compassion means facilitating heroin addiction (“it would be MEAN to stigmatize drug addicts 😢😂😭😪😥😰😩”) but punishing those filthy low-lifes who want to drink a Coke or a Gatorade. (“People who drink Soda probably voted for DRUMPF! 😡😡😡😡😡😡”)

Maybe it’s because heroin makes you skinny, but sugar makes you fat. That sounds pretty similar to the way a progressive would think.

The Bundy Case Gets Tossed

A Federal judge yesterday tossed out the Federal Government’s case against Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy with prejudice; meaning the Feds don’t get another shot at putting him in prison. The reason the judge did this was because the Federal Prosecutors overzealously charged the Bundy’s, lied in their legal filings, and denied the Defense team access to potentially exculpatory evidence. Among other things, the prosecutors lied about how many armed (with military weapons and body armor) personnel the Feds sent to the ranch; they claimed it was only twenty, it was actually 197.

IOW, Cliven Bundy and his supporters claimed the Federal Government was corrupt and malevolent … and then the Department of Justice legal team proved them right.

What the Bundy case is really about is the Federal Government’s direct control of a third of the American landmass and more than half of the land in the big squared off states in the west. This is done in the arrogant belief — shared by Democrats and Republicans alike — that bureaucrats in a city on the east coast can better manage western lands than the people who live in those states. These people honestly believe that without thousands of DC bureaucrats holding them back, the people of Utah, Idaho, and the other western states would just turn Federal lands into giant toxic waste dumps where hillbillies on four-wheelers who fire 50-calibre assault weapons at jackalopes. There’s a pervasive belief in the political class that everyone in DC is wise and good and everyone between the coasts is a barbarian.

And then there’s this gem of a quote from a member of some George Soros funded environmental activist group.

Kieran Suckling, executive director of the Center on Biological Diversity, blamed the Justice Department for bumbling the prosecution. “Federal prosecutors clearly bungled this case and let the Bundys get away with breaking the law,” said Mr. Suckling in a statement. “The Bundys rallied a militia to mount an armed insurrection against the government. The failure of this case will only embolden this violent and racist anti-government movement that wants to take over our public lands.”

Now what the heck does race have to do with this case? Beyond that leftists think literally (not figuratively) everything is about race. They obsess over race the way Victorian women obsessed over showing a little bit of ankle.

Liberals Are So Gay

The TL;DR version of this article is that “liberals” (in the Progressive-Left sense, not in the Classical Sense)  consider their progressivism to be a defining feature of their social identity.

This phenomenon is exacerbated by two related factors. First, liberals are generally dysfunctional, vice-ridden people who embrace what we call liberalism because its underlying relativism and nihilism help them justify their sins. (They become the arbiters of their own “values.” “Everything is gray, a matter of perspective. I have my own ‘truth.'”) Simultaneously, liberalism allows these virtue-bereft people to virtue-signal by paying homage to the day’s fashionable values. In other words, liberals are generally morally “unaccomplished” people who often have nothing to cling to but the illusion of intellectual, and often moral, superiority.

You know who else derives their identity from group affiliation and obsess over fitting in with their clique? Teenage girls and a whole lot of gay men.  We talk about gay people who let being ghey define everything about them; the clothes they wear, the neighborhoods they live in, the movies and TV they watch. “Liberals” are like that, too. The group defines their tastes and attitudes for them, and they accept it in exchange for membership in the group.

The Democrat Media Complex is very much aware not only that their followers treat their progressivism as a personal identity, but also that because they do, it effectively immunizes the party against the failures of its policies. The identification of Democrats with liberalism is so strong they will deny the failure rather than compromise their identity. (Consider the leftists claiming that Venezuela, Cuba, and Zimbabwe are not failures of socialism; they failed because their leaders weren’t pure enough. Consider the leftists who blame Chicago’s gun violence on Republicans in Indiana.)  It also is why they have constantly and childishly denigrate the right; both to maintain their fragile sense of superiority and to discourage their weak-minded followers from considering alternatives.

Part of the left’s psychological warfare is to ostracize and vilify women like Laura Ingraham, Sarah Huckabee, and Dana Loesch as well as gay men like Chad Felix Greene as an example to others who might step out of line. Likewise, “liberals” must constantly vilify all those who are not “of the body” in order to validate their membership in the “popular group.”

Hence anything that questions, criticizes, or presents an alternative to leftist policies is seen not as a different perspective, but as a personal attack. Declining to bake a wedding cake is thus an intolerable act of “violence” against an LGBT’s sense of self-esteem and must be punished severely.

We look at conservatism as a set of pragmatic policies that have been proven to work over time. It’s not our identity, it’s a set of things we believe. In that same vein, we don’t look at same-sex attraction as our sole defining social characteristic nor derive our identities from it. Left-wing gays do, and because they have not been reasoned into this belief, it is impossible to reason them out of it.
