  1. Speaking of supermarket checkouts. Woman in line ahead of me paid $40 with a food stamp card, turned around and she was buying $100 in cigarettes with cash. What the hell is going on? Free sh*t for everyone, and no one sent me my Obamaphone yet.

  2. As I watched the videos of Black Friday, of all those crowds of trashy people who cared about nothing more than getting something for themselves at someone else’s expense…. I thought, “Could there be any better metaphor for Democrat voters?”

  5. They try to portray him as a regular guy, while also portraying him as exceptionally brilliant and/or the messiah. It’s actually quite impressive.

The America of _Idiocracy_; the America which just voted for Obama, hoping to get stuff for themselves.

  7. The last time that I can remember the MSM doing a puff piece on a Republican President is when they followed GHW Bush, and First Lady Barbara, into a JC Penney´s and if memory serves me, they were surprised how much a pair of socks cost. The object of the MSM was to show how of touch the Bush´s were with mainstream America. We´re damned if we do and damned if we don´t.

  8. Sorry
But Obama is a regular guy. He likes sports, drinks beer and seems to be a good husband / father. Turns out he is doing a crummy job running the country, but the reality is people like him – And NOT because of the media but because of his personality.

If you take off the partisan lenses you would see that.

You would also keep seeing that he is not doing a good job, but it would lessen the hate that many on the right have for Obama. (And make the conservative counter arguments more effective)

  9. “But Obama is a regular guy” Is that why people call their lord and savior? Regular guys get that title all the time. Lets face the truth, Mike, he’s a religious leader and you are in his cult. This article outlines it pretty well. While it is, specifically, about global warmism, it applies well to all cults: http://www.numberwatch.co.uk/religion.htm

  10. Yea, Mike, I guess Obama is a regular guy – just like the regular guy who swears in front of teenagers, just like the regular guy who gives Hillary the finger, just like the regular guy who goes on vacations in Hawaii all the time, just like the regular guy who picks fights with those who oppose him, just like the regular guy who tells others how much money they should make, just like the regular guy who complains about the price of arugula, just like the regular guy who calls the death of an American Ambassador a “bump in the road.”

Yea, he is a “regular guy.” Have another glass of Kool-aid, Mike.

Romney called it right during the Al Smith Memorial dinner – Headlines the next day will read “Catholics embrace Obama” while “Romney dines with rich people.” That line brought a lot of laughs precisely because it is how the MSM reports.

    LOL.

I truly love the cognitive disconnect that allows people like mike to acknowledge that Obama is a failure and incompetent but then a) scream that any criticism of him is “hate” and b) vote for him over and over and over again.

It also points out the folly of trying to appeal to these cultists. They don’t care about incompetence, doing a crummy job, or spending us into oblivion; instead, they make the ludicrous excuse that Obama’s alleged “personality” makes up for all of that.

This is really where you have to write off the cultists. They don’t want a President; they want Snookie running the country.

  12. Look I explicitly agree with you. He is a crummy president. Yet just because I have the “audacity” to see him through a non partisan lens, I am called a cultist.

    WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The country is moving on without you. Open your eyes to what the other side sees and you can beat them. Stick your head in the sand and deny everything and we lose.

  13. NDT – So true. Apparently, there are a large number of people who are willing to flush the economy and our future down the crapper just because Bammy said he was okay with gay marriage. And then they wonder why no one buys into their phony concern trolling.

  15. Seems they’ve always been trying to portray Obama as a regular guy, but his predecessor (and most recent political opponent) as anything but

Obama’s about a million times closer to the image of a regular guy than either Bush or Romney.

  16. Because all regular guys grow up in Indonesia, go to Columbia and Harvard on affirmative action set-asides, spend their lives as community organizers, attend churches that attack white people as the devil, and have avowed terrorists as political mentors.

  17. but it would lessen the hate that many on the right have for Obama.

How so? Most people “hate” him for his policies and other things regarding his presidency, not because of anything that has to do with his personal life.

The country is moving on without you. Open your eyes to what the other side sees and you can beat them. Stick your head in the sand and deny everything and we lose.

And your solution seems to be to continue the Republicans’ futile strategy of appeasement and/or moving to the left. You know who that would benefit? Democrats, because most conservatives wouldn’t bother to vote or would vote for some third party. So, I guess if you want a permanent Democrat majority, the Republicans should listen to you.

On the other hand, what the Republicans should do, in my opinion, is advocate for common sense fiscal policies and entitlement reforms, appeal to individual liberty, and grow a goddamned spine. They don’t have to be as ruthless as the Democrats, just more aggressive than they (the Republicans) are. And for Christ’s sake, they shouldn’t be apologetic for their positions. The Democrats are going to demagogue and lie regardless of what the GOP does, so they might as well stick to their principles and try a new, more agressive, strategy.
