  2. So what about it, Deval? How about stepping aside for someone your constituents can really be proud of?

Whoa, whoa, whoa, cowboy…let’s not put the wagon ahead of the horse (your choice of end). There’s plenty of time for everyone to get their share of the pie in and out of Beantown proper.
    Here’s how:

Deval appoints Bwarney as interim Senator. Whomever dukes it out against Ed I’m-so-old-I-literally-have-barnacle-warts Markey and the other MA reps (“Hey, we’re just as relevant too!”) for the full senatorial term to replace Lurch Liveshot Kerry. Bwarney can then go to his second home in MA—new or old—and wait for the next shoe to drop. In a few short months, Deval can decide he’s not going to run for reelection in 2014 in order to “explore” his options for replacing his BFF Barry at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW in 2016. Bwarney can then just slide right into the corner office at the Statehouse on Bacon Hill—no Astroglide needed.

After all, what self-respecting Democrat wouldn’t vote for Bwarney? He’s not one of those evil Republicans (like Scott Brown or Bill Weld)…

Do you really think blue collar Massachusetts Dems voted overwhelmingly for Barney Frank each and every time, for decades? I don’t. I never did.

His sexual orientation aside, he was deeply nasty in his interactions with his constituents and he never wore his freaking teeth. Jeez. Suddenly, they go to change his district and…he bows out.

Many, many years ago, I read an article in something like the New Yorker. Someone volunteered to be a poll watcher in Mass and wrote a long-form piece about it. One of the things his more senior poll watchers showed him was how to lean on the lever at the back of the voting machine to ratchet up the Dem votes — not a lot, just enough for a modest little majority in every polling place. It was written in a haha…political types, what are they like? sort of voice, but it’s stuck with me all these years.”…

Her perspective, but a comment or two down, someone says they live in that district and mentions them voting in another no-experience Kennedy over Bielat.

    Fun blog, btw, http://www.sweasel.com

  4. Scott Brown or Richard Tisei would be much better.

What do you mean Massachusetts deserves him? He spends all his time in DC fucking up the nation as a whole, not just the Massholes…
