  1. My lib friends say “Oh, that’s different”.

  2. It depends on what the meaning of “killed” is.

Also, Progressive drones do not target children.

Republican drones are mean-spirited and hateful.

    Oh, look! A squirrel.

Collateral damage in the sanitary erasing of targeted enemies of the Progressive state is merely lamentable.

Close Gitmo, bring the drone survivors to Noo Yawk for full dress, due process trial.

    Yoo calling me a hypo-crite?

    The 1% caused the drones.

  3. Hmmm…with that record, we might as well ban guns and allow everyone to have their own military-style drone. Have them equipped with a few James Bond-style weapons, and they would become a truly versatile item no honorable citizen should be without.

Besides, with the prevalence of the gaming culture, a drone would be a lot easier for much of the younger generation to control than a firearm.

  4. Also, Warrantless Wiretaps up 400% under Obama. Remember, under Bush, warrantless wiretaps were horrible violations of human rights and symptomatic of a regime gone mad with unchecked power. But under Obama, they’re just the State looking out for our safety and protection.

  9. I too have also seen a lot of Libs complaining about this for a while. Folks like Greenwald and many others have been saying they are illegal and immoral.
While some conservatives have been defending Obama on this. – And to be honest this is one area that I think we can all agree – Obama has been great at chasing terrorists. Clinton, Romeny, McCain and many others called him naïve and reckless but he has been very clear. We will kill terrorists wherever they are. He has been waging a defacto war with Pakistan since at least 2009 culminating with a land invasion when he sent the Seals in to kill Osama.
He has shown terrorists that he doesn’t give a f*ck and lots of innocents have been killed. However, the libs have been counting bodies and I won’t be surprised if someone tries him for War Crimes. Pakistan has been considering such a move but they have been bought off so far through “aid.”

War crimes?! He won the fricken Nobel Peace Prize, for cryin’ out loud! Right up there with MLK Jr, Mother Teresa, Abp Desmond Tutu, The XIV Dalai Lama, and Aung San Suu Kyi (who spent years under house arrest—no vaycays in Hawaii for her)…how could he possibly be indicted for war crimes?!

[Though I must admit, the irony would be most delicious.]

  11. littlelettermike left out the part about how the US death toll in Afghanistan under Obama is: Obama 1508 and Bush 575.

The drones didn’t do squat in saving the gay ambassador in Libya, they just took pictures so that dawdlers in Washington to could watch the action in real time while help was ordered to “stand down,” quite possibly by Denis McDonough.

Obama knows that bringing terrorists to the US to stand trial in open courts with full rights accorded as if they were US citizens is flat-out stupid, but a real campaign winner in the demagoguery category. So, he murders them with drones and avoids the Gitmo and trial nonsense he so aggressively stirred up and has so assiduously avoided.

Drones have come a long way in development since the Bush Whitehouse and they certainly serve their purpose. We could have a discussion about them, but why? The proper place for that is in a non-dysfuntional Congress where budgets are set and passed and committees meet and work gets done.

However, if we are going to have a national discussion, don’t you think that should include why we are still sending troops to Afghanistan with one or their arms tied behind their backs to be slaughtered in ever increasing numbers while what they are permitted to do in the area of breaking things and killing people is constantly being constricted? Afghanistan wants to try our people for war crimes. Our military has “ordered” our guys to “respect” the Taliban. Is this a war or playing croquet with the Queen of Hearts?

Maybe The View should bring in Michael Moore, Rachel Maddow, Chris Matthews and grill Liz Cheney.

Thanks for the offer to chat about drones, but I somehow think that the rules will only allow for selected talking points.

  12. Obama has been a coward when it comes to this stuff. He grabbed his nuts and went after Osama on some intel that was not 100% verifiable, and a few other good things, but I can not understand why there are any U.S. troops in Afghanistan. The wars original intent was to defeat Al Queda, which was accomplished a decade ago. Now no one knows what it is about. He needs to have his defense gurus and generals justify our presence there, and quantify the costs and benefits. When they are unable to do so (again), the U.S. could be gone in a month. Sorry Karzai, it’s over.

I’ve always wondered why the hell Obama got a peace prize. They’re probably kicking themselves in the ass for that. And if they’re not, they should be. The warrantless wire-tapping is also insane. I can understand the post 9/11 mentality that lead to it (which does not make it acceptable), but that should have worn off long ago.

I’m still waiting for Obama drop the act and start being the way I thought he would in his first term, but I don’t think it’s going to happen.

  14. This is one of those issues where both parties are absolutely terrible, so the preference goes to the party that is slightly less horrible than the other. I am not happy with the things Obama has done on this front and that’s why I didn’t vote for him a second time. But what are the alternatives? The Republicans implemented an insane foreign policy and fail to acknowledge it to this day. There are some utilitarian rationalizations for Obama’s policies (10 dead kids is better than 100 dead kids), but even so, his course of action is morally reprehensible.

Should Obama be charged with war crimes? Not before Bush – that much is clear. I would vote yes, as if that means anything. Unfortunately, it’s naive to imagine that powerful people in the most privileged country in the world ever be held accountable for the crimes they commit. The best we can do is prevent people like Bush and Obama from having those privileges in the first place – we shouldn’t spend every election cycle choosing between a party of war criminals and a party of slightly less horrible war criminals.

  15. There are some utilitarian rationalizations for Obama’s policies (10 dead kids is better than 100 dead kids), but even so, his course of action is morally reprehensible.

So what that means, Levi, is that “progressives” like yourself, who overwhelmingly voted for Obama, who worship Obama as their Lord and Messiah, and who insist that any opposition to Obama whatsoever is due to “racism” are “morally reprehensible”.

And your post is a laughable failure. You scream and piss yourself that it’s all Bush’s fault, that Obama isn’t responsible for anything. You aren’t man enough to call for Obama’s impeachment like you were for Bush, and you aren’t man enough to call for Obama’s imprisonment for war crimes like you are for Bush.

You do nothing but make excuses for Obama, Levi. Which means you support him, you endorse him, and you refuse to hold him accountable for anything he does.

  16. The little fascist is amusing. He still clings to the desperate claims that President Bush was *worse* than Obama, despite the increased casulaties, increased civilian deaths, Obama’s arming of terrorists and drug cartels.

But of course he’s just disappointed in Obama’s torture and increase in American Casualties.

Oh wait, I forgot, Levi believes the abuse that was punished in Abu Grahib is SOP for the military. So I doubt he sees the dead soldiers as a downside.

  18. Livewire,

Under Bush, deceit and depravity reigned. Under Obama mistakes have been made due to the continuing influence of the deceit and depravity of Bush.

Never underestimate the lasting negative power and influence of the boogie man. Always carry a silver bullet and crucifix when opening a closet door or looking under your bed.

To really understand thelittlefascist you have to understand why he has permanent diaper rash; why he continually wets himself.
