  1. The Left is Veruca Salt: They want what they want, and they want it now! Obama lost big chunks of support in the 2012 election, but the Left lives in a different world: his painfully narrow victory was a “historic” victory, in their view, so why won’t those nasty conservatives just abandon their principles already and cave into the Left on everything? Including unconstitutional levels of gun control.

I also suspect that deep down, lefties know what we know: that they are reactionary stewards and advocates of a political economy which is unsustainable, and so doomed to collapse. (Namely, the Welfare State / Big Government.) But I can’t prove they know it.

  2. I’m going to guess it’s a part of a concentrated effort to ‘break’ anyone not in accordance and agreement with the far left liberal agenda—–the agenda hasn’t changed, so nothing has to be revealed.
    .
It’s to isolate, attack, discredit and destroy the opposition.

Or we could wishfully think it’s their attempt to desperately hold on to, and believe in a narrative from leaders such as Obama they’re starting to become disillusioned, and perhaps enlightened about. Something they have based their entire identity on. Maybe, tho doubtful.

  3. The leftist assumption was that everybody would fall into place after the great evil known as the Republican Party was vanquished in the 2012 election. They thought America and the world would welcome them as conquering heroes and the great minds their moms always said they were. It ain’t happening that way.

    Comment by Douglas — January 28, 2013 @ 7:56 pm - January 28, 2013

  4. One thing I noticed among the lefties I used to be friends with on Facebook was there was absolutely no magnanimity after the election. All I saw was gloating and obnoxiousness. It’s like all they cared about was winning so they could rub our faces in it.

  5. Can’t admit that their policies, their politicians, their “The One” are nothing but failures. So, look to blame others. Hey Obama does it all the time, just like most liberals do it all the time.

    Comment by Charles — January 28, 2013 @ 9:35 pm - January 28, 2013

  6. Sultan Knish, Dan.

There is not a single Obama voter anywhere in the land who believes that another four years of him will make this country better. Not a single one from coast to coast. No, what they believe is that he will make the country a worse place for those people that they hate. That he will have four more years to sink their ideas deeper in the earth, regardless of how many families go hungry and how many fathers kill themselves because they can no longer take care of their families. What they believe is that Obama will grant their group more special privileges and the rest of the country can go to hell.

Liberals and Obama supporters want us dead. That’s all there is to it. Look at Dan Savage, look at Michelangelo Signorile, look at this website’s own Little Kiwi — and realize that these are people that want us dead because of how we think and vote.

  7. I’d agree with Charles and V the K: they mainly care about winning at all costs, and even though they might suspect, deep down, that their leaders and policies are not the successes they claim, they are too terrified to admit that possibility, and so they angrily blame others.

  8. It seems tht all the comments seem to be right on target. Sunday, Obama stopped blaming Bush in his CBS interview and began blaming FOX NEWS AND RUSH. My question is why do the general public still think that Republicans are evil because Obama says so.

  9. When you party and existence rely on hate and fomenting dissension you don’t know any better. You don’t suddenly switch to being positive, you amplify the hate more.

Also, they really haven’t gotten what they want so lash out – of course at the wrong target.

  10. I concluded a long time ago that the left can never be happy because what they want is an unrealistic fantasy. Conservatives, generally, look back on human history and understand that there will ALWAYS be some level of greed, poverty, prejudice, bigotry, etc. in the world. We are pragmatists and are willing to go along with schemes to try to reduce those bad parts of human nature and human existence – to an extent. But as pragmatists at some point conservatives say enough is enough. The left NEVER reaches that point. They think if they keep pushing new laws and new regulations, they can perfect humanity – which of course is absurd.

So how can they ever be happy when what they want is both unrealistic and unattainable?

  11. So how can they ever be happy when what they want is both unrealistic and unattainable?

What? You mean we can’t have clean, abundant, cheap energy from windmills and unicorns? We can’t fund a massive entitlement state just by taxing the rich? We can’t isolate people from the consequences of bad personal choices without encouraging them to make bad personal choices? We can’t create full employment by giving everyone a Government job?

    Has anyone told Levi this?

Actually, that’s giving them too much credit.

After all, if an organization that purported to be working for “the poor” sent its millionaire CEO on lavish Hawaiian and Martha’s Vineyard vacations, threw lavish parties for the CEO’s multimillionaire wife, bought private liquor-stocked airliners for its multimillionaire leaders to commute with their cronies between home and office, sent its office staff on million-dollar “conference” junkets, and let its staff and board of directors skip out on their dues, people would rightly wonder if that organization in fact had anything to do with “the poor”.

But that is what the Obama Party does. It pimps poverty and every other ailment of the human condition as a reason to give it more power and more of your stuff.

  13. Honestly to some degree I think it is a sort of bullying-where a whole group of kids pick another kid or kids and they swarm like sharks. They see one kid do it and they have to raise it up a notch to show they are part of the group.

I also think some of the anger is almost revenge oriented. I have a liberal facebook friend who posts all the time from the “We surivived Bush, you can Survive Obama” group. Most of the posts are childish and half the time simple and ignorant (going for a dig more than looking for truth). Its almost like liberals view Obama as the method of revenge on all conservatives who voted for Bush.

In general I actually see the anger as more comparable to a toddler in a tantrum then righteous anger at some wrong.

  14. 13. I love how that group name equates Obama and Bush when they hated Bush with such fervor.

  15. In short: because they want the world to be one giant, happy place filled with equality. Sounds good, but it’s a laughable concept. They’ll create interest groups for every minority out there and they’ll bring to light and to court institutions that ‘don’t treat my friends like you and me.’

    Comment by John — January 29, 2013 @ 10:50 pm - January 29, 2013

  16. @ Just me: I notice the same thing. On internet sites – mostly conservative or libertarian – really outspoken liberals or ‘independents’ tend to swarm (like sharks on a bleeding prey) on certain articles (homosexuality, religion, global warming, illegal immigrants, basically anything that’s near and dear to their hearts.

And most of the time I sense an attitude of ‘Karma is a b*tch, isn’t it?’ that they want to fundamentally change institutions and if they do win, they usually are smug about it and shove that victory in the opponents face. They’ve become bullies when they are against bullying, supposedly.

  17. @North Dallas Thirty: Thanks for those links. I clicked on Little_Kiwi’s name and it brought me to his youtube page (if it is his youtube page). It’s rather sad to see seemingly friendly people show great hostility, anger and belittling attitude when they put on their ‘other face’ ie anonymous internet face. I guess when the camera isn’t on him he’s a different person. What appears to be a cool guy turns out to be a lemming. (I know, who am I to ‘judge’ him.)

  18. One major difference between the left and right is that the left never holds their own accountable. It’s always conservative’s fault.

Unfortunately on the right we will eat our leaders and lose elections for the sake of punishing our leaders. That’s not to say our leaders shouldn’t lose those lessons, but considering turnout in ’12 was lower than in ’04 and out of the 13 million voters who declined to show up in ’12 vs ’08, 10 million were on the right, we should seriously considering a new plan of voter turnout…
