  1. And my goodness, do people in the South NOT know how to drive!!!

    -Bruce (@GayPatriot)
    No.
and I count “south” as anything below Green Bay.
I have driven through Chicago and Milwaukee during ice and snow and you’d think it was snow in Miami or New Orleans. 100+ cars in the ditches between Milwaukee and G.B. and 20 of those turtle.

  2. oh, and havent you heard. Cold weather and snow is now the fault of AGW. EVERYTHING is now the fault of AGW.
    Asteroids!
    not kidding.

  3. They have issued a freeze warning, and a whill chill warning, in our Central Florida area. I am SO glad the alert reminded us to stay warm by wearing layers and gloves. Now, if I could just figure out what a gloves is … …

And for the record, as a lifelong Southernor (thank you Jesus, seriously) we do not know how to drive in that thing you call “snow.” It is allegedly natural but some of my kin call it Satan’s dandruff.

  4. Whill Chill ? … try wind chill. It’s so cold my fingers are numb. Maybe that’s what the glovesy thingys are for?

    Comment by Randy — February 16, 2013 @ 6:11 pm - February 16, 2013

  5. It’s the same every year people forget everything they know about driving in snow during the first snowfall and for a week or two after. It isn’t until they pass enough accidents that they suddenly remember to SLOW DOWN! Wherever your worth dying to get there.

  6. The stinking Yank-Kike-Masonic consortium is behind this, just like with the meteor attack on Chelyabinsk!

P.S. A short primer on how to say “Jesus Titty-F*cking Christ” in Russian after a large meteor has just gone overhead and made a loud sonic boom.

P.P.S. The Russian guys in this video don’t actually make any references to Yanks, Jews, or Freemasons, but trust me that some of their countrymen do.

  7. Our first year back in KC (from San Diego) was 2010. We had below-zero temps and actually bought and used a snow-blower. Since then, nada.

We had about half an inch of snow last night but it’s gone now. Maybe Thursday.

  8. My first winter in KC, after moving from San Diego (I’m not kidding, SoCalRobert), was in 2002. We had a huge ice storm that brought down the branches of most of the trees in our neighborhood. Our house was spared a hit by a tree branch because we didn’t have trees near the house. It was creepy listening to the branches collapsing that night.

    No storm since has compared.

  9. “And my goodness, do people in the South NOT know how to drive.”

Maybe, that’s because they are all those damnyankees who moved south to get away from the northern winters. (effing snowbirds) And I wish a lot more of them would move south and get off MY highway!

    Comment by Charles — February 16, 2013 @ 11:10 pm - February 16, 2013

  10. I remember that 2002 ice storm (I live SW of KC..and didn’t move here from San Diego LOL)…downed trees and electric poles everywhere, and also one in 1984 that brought down a TV tower in Topeka.

  11. People who normally don’t drive in the snow don’t know how to do it.

  12. A bit of caution my be in order on all of this. There is a weather condition that crosses North Carolina from time to time that I call the “ice belt.” Trucks from Maine and Wisconsin jack-knife and go slipping and sliding, even though the drivers are seasoned winter drivers.

An awful lot about the diving conditions depends on the ground temperatures and the temperature-related type of ice and snow you are encountering.

Granted, people who have no instincts about driving in hazardous conditions do stupid stuff. You can be driving into blinding snow coming at you at night and picking your way along at a slow clip and count on some clown zooming past you at 70 as his tail lights disappear in haze within seconds.

We have a nearby mountain pass that has airport runway lights in the pavement to help you creep along when dense fog appears. There are overhead warning signs and flashing beacons as well. But the 60 car pile ups still occur. Most locals stay off the pass on the interstate and use the old US route with flashers flashing and one eye on the shoulder as they inch over the mountain.

I have been in those slow motion slides into stopped cars and there is nothing you can do about it when your car becomes an object in motion which stays in motion with the same speed and in the same direction until acted upon by the unbalanced force of stationary objects.

  13. How’s that “Global Warming” working out for ya?

It might have helped if the Liberals in the Guv’ment hadn’t sold-off their snow-plowing equipment and cut-back on their bulk road-salt purchases because Michael Moore and Al Gore assured them they weren’t needed anymore.

    Comment by Ted B. (Charging Rhino) — February 17, 2013 @ 12:08 pm - February 17, 2013

  14. Speaking of man-made Global Warming, why did I see a protest against the Keystone XL pipeline on TV this evening? I thought You-Know-Who had already given it the thumbs down and such protests were superfluous. Or has he since begun to waver in the face of knowing how incredibly broke his nation is?

And yet Milwaukee liberals like to tell jokes about how stupid those Northern Wisconsin, redneck, Rethuglikkkan voting hicks are.

    It is to laugh.

  16. The answer is “no” southerners do not know how to drive in snow.

  17. Up here in Northern VA all they have to do is mention snow and the whole area spazzes. They delay openings or close schools, and institute liberal leave policies for Government workers. Don’t really need the sequester. Just one big snow storm and the Government would be shutdown for weeks.

    Comment by David — February 18, 2013 @ 9:32 am - February 18, 2013

  18. I beg to differ. We Southern Men are excellent drivers. However, the phrase “And my goodness, do people in the South NOT know how to drive IN THE SNOW!!!” would be entirely accurate.

  19. It’s colder because it’s warmer, just like fascism is so far right it’s almost the same as communism which is so far left. It’s perfectly logical.

  22. funny about global warming…it releases things like moisture in the air which can cause things like more rain and more snow at times. Additionally, it causes more anomalies in weather patterns, temperatures, etc. Course anyone who actually takes science as it is instead of filtering it through a conservative political agenda strainer actually understands that.

    Comment by Kevin — February 23, 2013 @ 1:48 am - February 23, 2013

  23. Kevin- What you just described is called WEATHER. Weather IS a series of anomalies that has taken place over the past 6 billion years.
