The Massachusetts Humanities Council’s 40th anniversary gala at the JFK Library the other night. Frank was seated at the same table as incoming state Senate prez Stanley Rosenberg, who happened to be the point man for the Senate on redistricting, and Barney wasted no time in letting Stan have it!
“He didn’t say hello, how are you, congratulations, nothing. He just started screaming at him,” said Someone Who Was There. “It was very ugly.”
So much so that the organizers of the event moved Rosenberg and his partner, Bryon Hefner, to another table to get away from the grumpy ex-congressman!
Apparently the gist of Barney’s gripe was that Rosenberg didn’t do enough to preserve Frank’s district after the 2010 census forced the state to lose a seat in Congress. Instead, the new congressional map took New Bedford — a Barney stronghold because of his work on fishing issues — and parts of Fall River out of his district and added Blackstone Valley, where he was not a shoo-in, making the voting bloc more conservative. Instead of running for re-election in the newly drawn district, Frank retired. But apparently not without a lot of hard feelings!
These elected fascists really hate being separated from their power. Still, not the worst thing Barney Frank has ever done.
Crashing the US economy by forcing banks to give mortgages to deadbeats (while snogging the guy at Freddie Mac was profiting from those bad mortgages)… that would be the worst thing Barney Frank has ever done.
Given the climate of bias, hate and fear that our top leaders and media have sought to foment against the Tea Party for years, is it any wonder that self-important IRS bureaucrats would act unethically toward it?
UPDATE: As long as my list is, I know that I’ve missed some juicy examples of our top leaders and media fomenting bigotry against the Tea Party. Please feel free to add more in the comments.
UPDATE:Rick Santelli points out the logical endpoint of the IRS’ approach – namely, your Obamacare death panel Accountability Board saying “No stent for you!” based on your politics – and predicts that Obamacare will be altered partly to prevent such a nightmare.
(Washington, D.C.) – Today, GOProud, the only national organization representing gay conservatives and their allies, announced they were expanding their television advertising buy against Barney Frank (D-MA). The ad, entitled “The Real Democrats of Washington, D.C.,” will now air district wide on Bravo and Lifetime through Election Day. “The response to this ad has been overwhelming,” said Jimmy LaSalvia, Executive Director. “We know this ad is resonating and we are expanding the buy to help make sure voters know what an embarrassment Barney Frank is.”
The ad began airing in district on Monday of this week on Lifetime and Bravo in the Boston market. GOProud’s latest buy will now include the entire district, including portions in the southern part of the district covered by the Providence market, and the ad will now run through next Tuesday. “GOProud is committed to saving the jobs of millions of Americans, including gay and lesbian Americans, by firing Barney Frank – the man the responsible for the financial meltdown that devastated our economy,” concluded LaSalvia.
Here’s the ad.
And here’s a CNN report last week about the GOPROUD ad when it first hit the airwaves.
DONATE to GOProud — because even gay Democrats are destroying this nation one at a time.
