As Dan reported a few days ago, Log Cabin Republican President Patrick Sammon has announced he is leaving his post at the national gay Republican organization after two years.

It seems there is more going on behind the scenes as well.  One of my very reliable LCR Board insiders tells me a shocking fact:  “Log Cabin is over $150,000 in debt.” 

And nearly the only source of income to Log Cabin lately is from none other than the Gay Left’s version of George Soros:  the infamous Tim Gill.   We have tracked Gill’s ties to Soros and Log Cabin extensively over the years here at GayPatriot.

So with Log Cabin leaderless and in serious debt…. is Tim Gill poised to take over the organization for good and move the “Gay Republican” organization permanently to the Gay Radical Left?

Only time will tell.

Obama Win Causes Obsessive Supporters To Realize How Empty Their Lives Are

Via Drudge: WTAE-TV 4, PITTSBURGH.

A 20-year-old woman who was robbed at an ATM in Bloomfield was also maimed by her attacker, police said.

Pittsburgh police spokeswoman Diane Richard tells Channel 4 Action News that the victim was robbed at knifepoint on Wednesday night outside of a Citizens Bank near Liberty Avenue and Pearl Street just before 9 p.m.

Richard said the robber took $60 from the woman, then became angry when he saw a McCain bumper sticker on the victim’s car. The attacker then punched and kicked the victim, before using the knife to scratch the letter “B” into her face, Richard said.

Richard said the woman refused medical treatment after the assault, which happened outside the view of the bank’s surveillance cameras.

The robber is described as a dark-skinned black man, 6 feet 4 inches tall, 200 pounds with a medium build, short black hair and brown eyes. The man was wearing dark colored jeans, a black undershirt and black shoes.

So it begins.  I’m shocked that the mere stating of facts in this news report isn’t being branded as “racist”.

First they came for the campaign volunteers, then the opposition party members, then the media, then …

How low will Obama-supporters and their allies in the MSM go to charge John McCain and Sarah Palin with racism?

It seems now that any criticism Republicans level against Obama is racist.  I guess if you look for something hard enough, you’ll find it anywhere.  Lewis Diuguid, Kansas City Star Editorial Page columnist, contends that in calling Obama policies “socialist,” “McCain and Palin have simply reached back in history to use an old code word for black.“

WOW!  I just have to shake my head at the absurdity of this guy’s notion.  Or, perhaps, as one smart college blogger put it, “I should have known it was a racist epitaph since McCain was saying it.“

Do these people know how much they’re soiling the political discourse by so labeling any criticism conservatives offer?  Instead of attempting to rebut McCain’s charge, they insult him.   They just want to believe that all Republicans are racist hate-mongers, even if they have to twist the record and invent new definitions of words to do so.

Maybe it’s because Diuguid, like Obama, is an devotee of Saul Alinsky who was not interested in debate, but in gaining power by whatever means necessary:   “A People’s Organization is dedicated to an eternal war…A war is not an intellectual debate, and in the war against social evils there are no rules of fair play.“

And they accuse McCain of “running one of the most appalling campaigns we can remember.” Guess that’s because the MSM haven’t been monitoring themselves this time around. Or other mean-spirited Obama supporters.

. . . this story would prompt editorials on the anger of Obama supporters.

We read all the time about the anger at McCain-Palin rallies as if it’s not commonplace for partisans at political rallies to speak harshly of their adversaries.  I mean, we all know that at Obama rallies, all they do is sing Kumbaya before chanting “Hope” and “Change” while riding their pink unicorns in happy circles around Obama.

Yet, when an Obama supporter physically assaults a McCain supporter, well, the media find it about as newsworthy as if a Democrat lied under oath.

Yesterday while doing my cardio at the gym, I was subjected to another of Keith Olbermann’s rants on MSNBC.  I could not believe the effrontery of the man whose TV show has become little more a forum for Bush-bashing and Republican ridicule to claim that his political bête noire (the GOP) had become a party of hate because yet another (that makes two, with some doubt cast on the first one) participant at a McCain-Palin rally cried, “Kill Him” (about Obama). Yet, it is Olbermann’s party (particularly with cheerleaders like him) which has become the Party of Hate.  John Hawkins documents some of their mean-spirited outbursts, including this comment from Democratic Talk Radio’s Stephen Crockett:

If I had my way, I would see Katherine Harris and Ken Blackwell strapped down to electric chairs and lit up like Christmas trees. The better to light the way for American Democracy and American Freedom!

Does the MSM so find a trend of hatred when they uncover such rhetoric? Do they even bother to look for it? Or maybe it’s like Joe Biden’s gaffes, the news media don’t find the left’s angry rhetoric newsworthy because, well, it’s so commonplace.

Attacking one’s rivals, often in the most vicious terms seems to have become the modus operandi of the left these past few years. Yeah, there are a few loons on our side as well, but nearly all serious conservatives distance ourselves from them, denouncing their angry rhetoric.

Comparing conservative and left-wing responses to criticism, noting particularly the comments section to his Pajamas blog, Victor Davis Hanson writes:

In that regard, I often note the tone of the hard left at this site; the right disagrees and adduces arguments, the left often by spewing invective. I know that when I give a lecture to businessmen suggesting greed is endemic on Wall Street and has discredited much of their own ethos there are serious but professional retorts; at a university the professorial response to criticism of the Left is shrill and occasionally unhinged.

What is it that has made the left so unhinged? Why do they rather revile us than engage us on the plain of ideas?

And do so, while they accuse us of being narrow-minded hate-mongers?  And claim to be smarter and better educated.  If they’re so well-read and smart, shouldn’t it then be easy for them to dismiss our ideas with rational argument?

Well, this is puzzling.  One of our most persistent left-wing trolls, the same one who has been blaming the financial crisis on Lehman Bros, not liberal Democrats’ reluctance to regulate….. well, this person is using an IP address which is housed at a company that describes itself like this:

What is it with some of the left that at the mere mention of someone with opposing views, they immediately lose all focus and rant against conservatives and Republicans in general or John McCain and Sarah Palin in particular.  They have long since transferred their hatred of Bush to McCain and Palin.

All this just proves is that their animosity against Republicans is only partly based on ideology or dislike of a supposedly incompetent and unintelligent executive, but primarily in their own neuroses.  They have some “need” to express their hatred against conservatives, verbally on their blogs and in person as well as physically against signs and bumper stickers promoting Republicans.

In the past few days, I have been surprised at the number of McCain-Palin bumper stickers I have seen in the West Hollywood/Hollywood area, impressed that these motorists are willing to risk having their cars keyed or otherwise vandalized, given how frequently that has happened in years past.

Now, blogress Cassy Fiano reports from Albemarle County, Virginia (my old stomping grounds when I was in law school about how these unhappy leftists have vandalized or stolen McCain campaign signs.  Not just that:

Two couples that put up signs expressing support for GOP candidates have had their signs stolen and have been receiving hate mail. And while Chris [Albemarle County GOP chairman Chris Schoenewald] told me they’re used to seeing some level of this kind of activity, this is the worst. “Large billboard signs that people are putting onto their property are being vandalized or stolen,” Chris said. “In past years, we haven’t seen that happen. We’ve been putting them on private property where the owners have been asking us to put them there. We’ve never seen a situation where there’s been this level of vandalism and theft. This is the first time that we’ve really seen this scale of activity.”

And I thought Bush-hatred was bad in 2004. This year, the vandalism has increased to levels never previously seen, at least in Virginia.

Albemarle County surrounds the City of Charlottesville, site of the University of Virginia. Interesting that we find the greatest amount of anti-Republican hatred near university campuses.

What is it about intellectuals who supposedly pursue the truth dispassionattely that makes them so passioantely intolerant of opposing viewpoints. Check out Cassy’s post to see photographic evidence of their intolerance. And to wonder why these people find it necessary to express themselves profanely when confronting conservatives.

To quote Glenn Reynolds, they told me if George W. Bush were re-elected there would be mobs of intimidating citizens suppressing speech and sowing the seeds of intolerance.

I usually ignore taunts directed my way by liberals bloggers, especially ones I’ve never even heard of before like NGblog. This particular blogger is practically giddy about the “outing” of Mark Buse, Senate chief of staff to Republican presidential nominee John McCain. However, since I noticed the link and have a little time tonight, why not?

My reaction in a nutshell: meh.

Buse doesn’t seem to me to have been closeted, but as far as I’m aware his sexual orientation was known by family, friends and co-workers. Most importantly, in this specific instance, to his boss: Senator McCain, who appears to not have cared at all. The only ’story’ here is once again unhinged liberal activists are engaging in gutter politics, a regular practice for them. Did they really think I needed yet another example of why the Democrats and their rabid partisans need to be kept out of the White House? Naaaah. Thanks, but such was completely unnecessary. Oh and the Religious Right folks we both sharply criticize are having a bout of Palinmania at the moment, so sorry guys but I doubt this will even register a blip on their radar. Nice try though.

Contrary to the accusations of NG and other lib bloggers, McCain is hardly “anti-gay” or “homophobic”. He is indeed a man from a different era in terms of gay rights, which readers at both blogs know I have had no problems harshly disagreeing with. John McCain isn’t perfect by any means but something he seems to have, which these folks clearly lack, is personal integrity and character. Mr. Buse’s “ex”, who helped “out” him, would seem to be missing such attributes as well, which is probably why he is his “ex”. If McCain harbored any animus towards homosexuals I seriously doubt Buse would have been employed by him for so long. I also doubt that McCain would have taken such a public stand in support of former Congressman Jim Kolbe or Neil Giuliano, the former mayor of Tempe, Arizona, who currently heads GLAAD.

So my reaction again is simply, meh. These folks are not worth further attention. I regret that Mr. Buse has to endure this nonsense, but he is a big boy and can take care of himself in the political world. Let them have a jolly good time thinking that they’ve ‘exposed’ McCain’s ‘hypocrisy’ while their antics will repulse most voters. This also does nothing to answer our main concern with Obama: his complete lack of experience and inability to effectively act as Commander-in-Chief. So have ‘fun’ for now boys and we’ll see you at the polls in November!

Yesterday I noticed that a post by Dan about Sarah Palin had been visited by what appears to be an “astroturfer”. For those who do not know what “astroturfing” is, Ace of Spades posted about this curious ‘phenomenon’ which has recently been found on conservative blogs and elsewhere on the Net:

Astroturfing is the dishonest PR technique of inserting PR messages straight from the PR shop out into the public, but in the guise of “concerns” of “real citizens” who are “independent” and have “no relationship” whatsoever to the PR campaign. It tries to disguise itself as a “grassroots” phenomenon — but it’s artificial and inorganic. Hence, “Astroturf.”

The particular “astroturfer” who commented on Dan’s post calls themself “Rebecca Burt” and claims to be someone who “was not completely decided on my vote until I really started to look into what [Palin] has done and what she stands for”. For an a self-proclaimed “Christian and pastor’s wife” I must say that “Burt” is certainly lacking in the fundamental virtue of charity, something Vince P also noticed. What did “Burt” use as the basis for her objections to Palin? Why, every scurrilous lie and rumor floated about by Obama supporters since John McCain announced his Veep pick a couple of weeks ago. I took the time yesterday to rebut most of the inane charges “Burt” raised to slander Palin, but alas thus far ’she’ has chosen to remain silent in response. Perhaps this post will elicit further comment from this troll visitor. Somehow I doubt it though, given that she apparently doesn’t stray far from the exact same script of talking points, as can be seen on quite a number of blogs.

I would like to make one more point to “Burt” and other astroturfers: we welcome an open and honest debate at Gay Patriot so there is no need to lie about who you are and why you oppose McCain-Palin or the GOP in general. True “concerned conservative Christians” (especially “pastor’s wives”) have no need for such deception. The use of such tactics betrays an inherent weakness in character and that the user lacks the courage of their convictions. As Jim Malone via Sean Connery warned, “the Lord hates a coward”.

If the following statements were made by the Republican VP candidate, you know Barack Obama would be screaming “racism” at the top of his lungs and the Mainstream Media would be having a nuclear-level uproar.   Unfortunately for Barack, these statements were made by his own running mate.

Delaware & The Confederacy:  In November, Biden joked about South Carolina’s Confederate past at a Rotary Club meeting in Columbia after organizers said their Christmas party at the Department of Archives and History would include a chance to see the state’s original copy of the Articles of Secession.
Biden noted Delaware was “a slave state that fought beside the North. That’s only because we couldn’t figure out how to get to the South — there were a couple of other states in the way.”

Biden violating Federal health privacy laws by announcing Barack Obama was tested for AIDS because he is black.

Biden describing Barack Obama’s candidacy:  “I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy,” Biden said.

Hey folks, that was just 5 minutes worth of work on Joe Biden’s race-tainted mouth.  And I got all of those nuggets from our friends at the Democratic Underground.

Our Short-Term Memory Afflicted Andrew forgets — Biden authorized use of force in Iraq.  Barack wasn’t in the Senate then.

And then there’s this final rousing cheer of glee from Sully about Biden as VP nominee:

I have to say his inability to shut up drives me up the wall. But there’s also an appealing lack of guile to the man; he wears his flaws like his hair-plugs – out and proud.

Not an inspired choice, in my book. But smart and solid – and adult.

Uh, we’ll see about that.   Seems like Obama has picked the liberal-version of Dick Cheney (from a lib’s point of view).

As I was coming home last night, I happen to notice that in the Philadelphia International airport there was a marked increase in the number of people who had at least two, if not many more, of the following characteristics:

• Angry-looking, arrogant, un-bathed, sloppy, obnoxious, self-absorbed, rude to fellow travelers, unwashed and unstyled hair, clothes that looked like they were taken from a trash dump, gays, lesbians, skinny white boys who need to eat a lot more food.

I had to assume the trek to the Democratic Convention in Denver had started early.

It sure seems like it. The past month has been devastatingly bad for the inexperienced junior Senator and street organizer from Chicago. John McCain’s ads have been on the money, including today’s newest one. (“Celebrities don’t have to worry about family budgets“)

The most astounding thing to me is The Messiah’s meteoric fall from his survey heights since before his ill-fated trip to Europe. I said then that the Emporer had no clothes. Looks like America is beginning to realize it.

Do Obama’s Sinking Poll Numbers Signal History Repeating for Democrats – Zogby.com

Just as party leaders pack their bags for Denver, our latest Reuters/Zogby poll finds their nominee in some trouble, as Republican John McCain has taken a five-point lead over Barack Obama. That is a 12-point reversal from the survey we took for Reuters in July. Interestingly, Obama’s margins among what had been his strongest demographic groups dropped by as much as 12 points. These include Democrats, women, city dwellers and younger voters – those ages 25-34. Also, Obama has lost his lead among the swing Catholic vote, dropping 11 points to McCain over a month.

What is happening is all too familiar to Democrats. McCain is using the Karl Rove playbook, attacking Obama’s perceived strengths, notably his mass appeal and freshness. Democrats hoped that eight years of a failed Bush presidency (80% in our latest survey said the nation was on the wrong track) so diminished the GOP brand that “going negative” would not work again for the Republicans.

In the end, it may not. Negative campaigning did not work on either side of the aisle in the primaries and caucuses. However, clearly McCain has been the aggressor for the past month, seeing an opportunity to define Obama for General Election voters before Obama could define himself. At times, it has seemed like he has been the only one throwing any punches, especially with Obama on vacation in Hawaii.

The more people get to know Senator Obama, the less impressive he is, the less experienced he shows himself to be, and the more shady his former friends turn out to be.

The question isn’t how many houses Cindy McCain owns… the question is how many houses Obama pal William Ayers tried to blow up; or how many houses the Obama’s got from a convicted felon.

Bring it on, Barry. America has figured out that there is no “there” there.

Item Number One:  “Men At Work” signs to vanish in Atlanta

In the battle of the sexes, women’s magazine editor Cynthia Good said this was a skirmish she had to fight.

Across Atlanta they stood, orange signs with black letters that read “Men At Work” or “Men Working Ahead.”

Sometimes, the signs stood next to women working alongside the men.

Good demanded Atlanta officials remove the signs and last week, Atlanta Public Works Commissioner Joe Basista agreed.

Score one for gender equality, Good said Wednesday.

Item Number Two: Gay Rights Group Offended By Brush-Clearing Project

Bristol City Council (UK) wants to prune bushes and remove cover from an area known as the Downs to improve the landscape and encourage rare wildlife.

But its own gay rights group has opposed the move, claiming that cutting back the bushes was “discriminating” to homosexual men who used the area for late night outdoor sex known as dogging.

Work on the beauty spot has been temporarily delayed while talks with gay rights groups take place to try and break the deadlock.

Oy.

Get used to it folks! Obama’s Reign of the People of The World will be all about identity politics and them vs. them.  Dr. King would be so proud.

Americans for Prosperity were there and confronted the liberal hypocrisy.  Or is it the Hypocrite Liberals?

We’re back from Al Gore’s big global warming speech, and boy did we have a great time! We had a dedicated band of taxpayer advocates out in force, pointing out the high economic cost of global warming alarmism – starting with $8 a gallon gasoline.

Of course, we saw plenty of hypocrisy — especially the fact that Gore didn’t ride his bike or take public transporation to the event.  He didn’t even take his Prius! Instead, he brought a fleet of two Lincoln Town Cars and a Chevy Suburban SUV!  Even worse, the driver of the Town Car that eventually whisked away Gore’s wife and daughter left the engine idling and the AC cranking for 20 minutes before they finally left!

Hey, if you think the car-idling is the best part of the video — WRONG!   The AFP folks peacefully confront Gore supporters and his limo driver and — well, you HAVE to watch it! I LOVE the woman who thinks a taxi cab is “public transportation”! ROFLMAO!!!
