Airstrip One 1920: In the interest of public safety, all firearm owners must be licensed.

Airstrip One 1937 – Personal defence is no longer a valid reason for a firearms license. “Firearms cannot be regarded as a suitable means of protection and may be a source of danger” (Which I believe is the IngSoc equivalent of “No one needs an AR-15.”)

Airstrip One 1968 – All rifles and pistols must be registered with the Government in the interest of public safety.

Airstrip One 1988 – For the good of public safety, semi-automatic rifles are banned. Shotguns must be registered.

Airstrip One 1997 – Thank you for registering your guns. Now turn them in or go to prison, for the good of public safety.

Airstrip One 2018 – Knife violence is out of control. “No excuses: there is never a reason to carry a knife. Anyone who does will be caught, and they will feel the full force of the law.”

I am told the slippery slope is a fallacy, but damb if it doesn’t look like our British cousins slid right down one.

So, what’s next? Outlaw hammers and bottles? Outlaw sharp pointy sticks? Outlaw rocks? Outlaw weightlifting because big strong men are intimidating?

Note to leftists; this is why no one believes you when you claim you don’t want to confiscate guns.

P.S. With London’s crime rate now exceeding New York City’s, the Metropolitan Police Department is tasking nearly 1,000 officers to investigate people who make politically incorrect comments in social media.

Riddle Me This

Why is it when Democrat-Leftists want to insult Republicans/Conservatives, they do so by calling them gay?

This Is Love

I am glad ‘Rick and Morty’ is (was? {Season 4 is looking pretty iffy}) popular among late Millennials and Generation Tide Pod. I find its realistic cynicism refreshing. e.g. This spot on take on love and relationships.

JERRY: Beth, do you still love me?
BETH: Ugh, what kind of question is that?
JERRY: The “yes or no” kind?
BETH: Jerry, do you want homeless people to have homes?
BETH: Are you gonna build them?
BETH: Then what good was the “yes”?
JERRY: Wait, is loving me the house or the homeless people?
BETH: Loving you is work, Jerry hard work, like building a homeless shelter nobody wants to say no to doing it, but some people put the work in.

Better than that “Love fixes everything and emotions are always right” crap the entertainment industry spews out to move product.

One Way to Deal with it

One of the suggestions for dealing with Wedding Cake Fascists was that people who object to being forced to participate in gay weddings should tell prospective gay clients they will donate their fees to organizations gay leftists don’t like. Some victims have taken exactly that approach.

“Displayed at the bottom of each page in the ‘Weddings’ section of its website is a clearly marked disclaimer that reads”:
At Liberty Ridge Farm, our deeply held religious belief is that marriage is the union of one man and one woman, and the Farm is operated with the purpose of strengthening and promoting marriage. In furtherance of this purpose and to honor and promote our moral and religious beliefs, we donate a portion of our business proceeds to organizations that promote strong marriages such as the Family Research Council.

Good for them, although it’s sad that the disrespect the gay left holds for basic human rights forces them into this position. No doubt, the HRC or some other parasite organization is trying to figure out if they can sue to block them from donating to the cause of their choice.

NBC News celebrated Easter by publishing an editorial saying Christians are responsible for “white supremacy” and the KKK.

Wanna bet NBC News will not celebrate Ramadan with an editorial blaming Mohammedans for terrorism and ISIS.

Also, some left-wing Control Faction says that chocolate bunnies and Easter eggs are bad for Gaia and you should be ashamed.

The Wonder of the Nanny State

There’s a dentist’s office in Pennsylvania that will report you to Child Protective Services if they think you’re not keeping up with your appointments. I am not making this up.

Mom Trey Hoyumpa did not like the treatment she and her kids got at the Smiles 4 Keeps location in Bartonsville, Pennsylvania. In a Facebook post she claims that the practice wouldn’t let her go into the patient area with her children, wouldn’t let her meet with the dentist, and diagnosed but wouldn’t treat more than one of her children on her visit. She decided not to go back. A few months letter she received this letter:

The letter says that neglecting a child’s dental care can be considered child abuse in Pennsylvania and that dental providers are required to report it to the state. It notes that the dental office has not yet reported the parent, but she should schedule an appointment to have her children seen ASAP or else.

The letter concludes: “To keep your child as healthy as possible and to avoid a report to state authorities, please call Smiles 4 Keeps immediately to schedule an appointment.” This is obviously going to be perceived as a threat.

This trend actually started under Obama, when the regime “suggested” that doctors start asking patients about gun ownership. (If your doctor asks you about gun ownership, I suggest lying.) But it is also a defining characteristic of communist regimes where neighbors are encouraged to spy on neighbors and children are encouraged to spy on parents.

This how societies become transformed from functional, high-trust societies into dysfunctional low-trust societies. Glenn Reynolds explains the difference:

In high-trust societies, people extend trust to strangers and follow rules for the most part even when nobody is watching. In low-trust societies, trust seldom extends beyond close family, and everybody cheats if they can get away with it.

It is hard to have trust and social cohesion when the state rewards people for snitching on their neighbors about things that are none of their business.

The Chairhumanoid of New Testament Studies at College of the Holy Cross is loopy as a loon.

Writing for The Fenwick Review, Elinor Reilly of the Holy Cross class of 2018 argues in a March 26 article that Professor Tat-Siong Benny Liew’s “unconventional readings of Scripture” have brought “a new theological perspective to Holy Cross.”

Saint John’s constant references to Jesus wanting water, giving water, and leaking water “speak to Jesus’ gender indeterminacy and hence his cross-dressing and other queer desires,” Liew contends.

In passages that would be considered blasphemous to devout Christians, Liew eroticizes Jesus’ relationship to his disciples and even to God the Father, proposing that “Jesus himself needs others to cum with the Father.”

This eroticization can be found in Liew’s interpretation of Christ’s passion and crucifixion as well, which Christians solemnly commemorate during Holy Week.

“What I am suggesting is that, when Jesus’ body is being penetrated, his thoughts are on his Father. He is, in other words, imagining his passion experience as a (masochistic?) sexual relation with his own Father,” Liew has written.

The Magic of Socialism

Zimbabwe: “Our farms once fed all of Africa. Now, we import food, and our currency is so degraded we print trillion dollar bills and it takes a pile of them to buy a loaf of bread. No one has succeeded at socialism better than we have.”

Venezuela: “Agarra mi cerveza.

Socialism is magical in its ability to turn First World economies into Third World economies, but Venezuela has gone full on ‘Mad Max.” Children are literally fighting with machetes over garbage,

At 16, Liliana has become the mother figure for a gang of Venezuelan children and young adults called the Chacao, named after the neighborhood they’ve claimed as their territory. The 15 members, ranging in age from 10 to 23, work together to survive vicious fights for “quality” garbage in crumbling, shortage-plagued Venezuela. Their weapons are knives and sticks and machetes. The prize? Garbage that contains food good enough to eat.

On the other hand, Venezuela has reduced income inequality (by making the middle class poor and the party elite ultra-rich), implemented state-provided Healthcare for All, they are fighting climate change, and about to legalize gay marriage. So, from a leftist perspective, having child gangs fight in the street over piles of garbage is pretty much worth it.

Turns out the father of Omar Mateen (the mass shooter the national media have forgotten about because his ethnicity is inconvenient to too many narratives) was an FBI informant for over a decade.

Could that be the reason the FBI twice interviewed Omar Mateen and twice determined he was good to go?

A Humble Suggestion

Turning Point USA was at the Gun Control March in Saturday and asked some of the people who want to ban assault rifles if they even knew what an assault rifle was. Spoiler alert: They did not and also they were rude, obnoxious, and foul-mouthed. (You should check out the video before YouTube deletes as part of the Ongoing Social Media Purge of Conservative Ideas.)

Here’s an idea. Congress should propose legislation making it illegal to sell fully automatic assault rifles to civilians without a Federal license and require Federal background checks on the sales of semi-automatic rifles.

Most of these VSP (Very Stupid People) have no idea that that is actually the current law.

After the jump, a VSP tries to advocate for gun control and ends up endorsing domestic violence instead.

Craigslist shut down its hookup ads section today. Congress passed a law holding website owners responsible when criminals used their sites for illegal sex trafficking.

PinkNews and Salon are telling me that LGBT (and promiscuous straight folk) are pretty upset about losing their anonymous hookup ads.

Hey guys, doesn’t it suck when your rights get infringed because someone, somewhere broke the law?

In related news, the Democrat Left is marching for gun control today.

Let’s Talk About the Weather

At the start of this past week, a Democrat City Councilman in the capital city of our country speculated that a Jewish conspiracy was manipulating the Earth’s weather in order to control urban areas.  I am not making this up.

D.C. keep talking about, ‘We a resilient city.’ And that’s a model based off the Rothschilds controlling the climate to create natural disasters they can pay for to own the cities, man. Be careful.”

To bookend that, the Democrat Feminist Naomi Wolf (the one who advised Al Gore to wear Earth tones in order to project a more Alpha Male image) blames Chemtrails for controlling the weather over New York City. I am also not making this up.

She also says the evil Nestle Corporation is behind the chemtrails.

When we noted major corporations such as Nestle have been buying up municipal water rights, hedge funds betting on water scarcity — and that cloud seeding redirects (doesn’t create) water — we got a flood of trolls. (Corps can hire troll farms, not just Russian). I say we look.

These same people would say some of us are crazy for wanting smaller, Constitutionally limited, fiscally responsible Government. On a kind of related note, very nearly three out four Americans believe that the Deep State has too much power. This is being characterized as a “Conspiracy Theory.” How is it so? Is it a conspiracy to believe that large bureaucracies, over time, become self-interested and will act primarily in their self-interests? Is it a conspiracy to believe that people who have spent their entire careers working within large bureaucracies become insulated against the world outside those bureaucracies? It is not a conspiracy to believe those things are so, rather it is consistent with human experience and history.

Of course, the Deep State exists. It only became a “Conspiracy Theory” after PDT started talking about it.
