This Past Weekend, Summarized

On Saturday, a Republican Senator was violently assaulted by a Democratic-Socialist who broke five of his ribs. Then, on Sunday, an atheist who was able to illegally purchase a gun because a bumbling Federal bureaucrat failed to put his name in the NICS database shot up a church full of Christians. In response, a bunch of progressives who think hashtags (#BringBackOurGirls) will solve all the worlds problems went on Twitter to sneer at Christians who were praying for the victims. Oh, and the progressives went on to screeched that there are too many dangerous people with guns, and at the same time accused anyone who wants to carry a gun for self protection of being a paranoid loon.

Pretty much it, right?

So, Is it Not OK to Be White?

Progressive leftists have their gender-neutral panties in a wad over what they are labeling a “white Supremacist” slogan. Specifically, the statement that “It’s OK to be white” is considered a “far-right” and “white nationalist” idea. And the Progressive Mandarins are appalled by the dangerous notion of white okayness.

The episode is indicative of the efforts white-nationalist groups have made to recruit in and around the nation’s college campuses and other mainstream settings with claims of growing white maltreatment and expanding anti-white discrimination. The white victim construct is one that experts say, not so long ago, only had traction in avowed white supremacists, segregationists and neo-Nazi circles. But today, it animates open and anonymous public discussions of race and shapes the nation’s politics.

So people are finally having this “National Conversation About Race” that progressives have been on about for, literally, decades. But now the progressives are freaking out because it’s not the “conversation” (i.e. lecture) they wanted to have; one where the progressive left would tell white people they should be ashamed and guilty and agree to implement the favored policies of the progressive left in order to atone for their sins.

The funny part is, this stunt was conceived on 4Chan to show how the progressive left would freak out at a harmless, anodyne statement like “It’s OK to be white.” And the progressive leftists have obliged them by doing exactly that.

Here’s Some Things

  1. Buzzfeed opinionist opines that in light of the terror attack in NYC last week, we should ban automobiles. (Also, she says a friend of hers died when struck by a car. It gave her sadfeels, so cars should be banned.) This is a lot like gun control; a terrorist illegal used something as a weapon to kill innocent people, so all of the law-abiding people who have never used their cars as murder weapons should be denied the freedom to own them. Not to mention, the same truck that probably had been rented hundreds of times before by people who did not use it to kill people. Which suggests that it isn’t trucks that should be banned.
  2. Modern architecture is aggressively hideous. And it’s hideous for the same reasons progressive Government is aggressively authoritarian and Progressive social mores are aggressively obnoxious. As with all things progressive, an inbred and deeply incestuous group of people who fancy themselves “elites” express their contempt for all thing good and decent by replacing them with hideous dysfunctional forms. Modern progressive architects hate beauty, they consider it bourgeois. So, instead of the grand edifices of the past, they are designing and building lumps of crap that all normal people hate, and then handing out awards to each other for breaking down social norms.
  3. The Government is stepping into the practice of medicine and doing what Government usually does when it sticks its jackboots into areas it has no business being in. Under a law passed in 2015, Government will now financially reward some doctors and penalize others according to a set of metrics known as Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS). One metric will be the percentages of patients that get better after treatment. In order to game the system, some doctors are refusing to treat seriously ill patients because they will penalized if the patients don’t get better. There is also this.

“The cost category, formerly known as Resource Use, is beyond worrisome. The sample grade chart itself shows that physicians who spend the most on their patients get 0 to 2 points while those that spend the least get 8 to 10 points. In other words, doctors get more money for withholding care and resources from patients and are penalized for delivering care.”

Were it up to me, Government would just keep its greedy hands out of health care entirely; let doctors and patients make decision without intervening layers of bureaucrats. But then, I’m a crazed radical, don’tcha know.

And Finally, 4. Here’s a black guy calling out some white Antifags, who respond by calling him an Uncle Tom.

A Little Bit of Pushback Against Protest Culture

TraThis article at The Atlantic seems to suggest that students who go to college in hopes of actually learning something are getting fed-up with protest culture. This would be a welcome change.  Although the Progressive Leftists have become so adept with their bullying and intimidation tactics that few students were willing to go on the record to express their disapproval.
I was struck by something as I read this Facebook post from one of the radicals.
“To all the white & able(mentally/physically) who don’t come to sit-ins(ever, anymore, rarely): all i got is shade for you. [… If] you ain’t with me, then I will accept that you are against me. There’s 6 hums left, I best be seein all u phony ass white allies show-up. […] How you gonna be makin all ur white supremacy messes & not help clean-up your own community by coming and sitting for a frickin hour & still claim that you ain’t a laughin at a lynchin kinda white.”
Translated from the original Idiot: “If you are white and don’t participate in my protests, I will call you a racist. Also, you’re a racist even if you do participate in my protest.”
OK, here’s a theory. Suppose you were a student of mediocre ability who got accepted to a university because of some other factor unrelated to your academic abilities. You get there and you discover the coursework is way over your head. So what do you do? A. Buckle down, work harder, and learn what you can. B. Transfer to another school more closely suited to your abilities. or C. Rail that the difficult classes are actually “racist,” “oppressive to marginalized communities,” and “support a system of white supremacy.” Only one of these options is both easy and assures you of societal approval.

Once, this great human being was our president. We didn’t deserve him. – Lesbian sooper-genius Sally Kohn, at the inauguration of the Obama Foundation

No, we probably did deserve him, what with slavery and Karma and such. But that’s not the way Obama cultist Sally Kohn looks at her Lord and Savior, Barack Obama. And she is not alone.

I think the reason the left misunderstands Trump is they think that his supporters have the same cultish devotion to him the way they had to their small, mahogany godling. And certainly there are a few, but the vast majority see Trump as a flawed man who might be able to push the country in the right direction on a few things. By and large, they do not see Trump as the sort of Superlative Messianic Figure that so many on the left saw in Barack Obama:

  • “”Many spiritually advanced people I know identify Obama as a Lightworker, that rare kind of attuned being who has the ability to lead us not merely to new foreign policies or health care plans or whatnot, but who can actually help usher in a new way of being on the planet, of relating and connecting and engaging with this bizarre earthly experiment. These kinds of people actually help us evolve. They are philosophers and peacemakers of a very high order, and they speak not just to reason or emotion, but to the soul.” – Mark Morford, SFGate columnist
  • To hear the president who is in some ways a father figure speak to that – the tears came down like with many people in our families,” – Andrew Sullivan, author of “The First Gay President” which was published alongside cover art featuring President Obama adorned with a halo.
  • “Apostle Barack, the next young leader with a new cause, had been taken to the mountaintop and allowed to see over the other side. He had the answers to unlock the kingdom of “heaven here on earth” for his followers.” – Author Barbara Thompson
  • “Obama is, of course, greater than Jesus” – Politiken
  • “I mean in a way Obama’s standing above the country, above above the world, he’s sort of God.” Newsweek editor Evan Thomas

On the Left, the Perps Are Always the Victims

Oh, no, you’re not really going to go there, are you? Are you… are you really going to…? You’re going to go there? Seriously? You’ve made up your mind and you’re going there? There is the place that you are going with this take?

OK, then. But remember, you chose to go there.

It’s because, according to the author, trying to rape a 14 year old boy is not the same as paedophilia; for which the victim must be “under 13.” And because criticizing adult gay men for trying to rape 14 year olds makes the Gay Community look bad.

Gay pundits’ overblown protests of disgust at Spacey support the very structure of pedophile sex panic—the hyperventilating reduction of queerness to child abuse—that they are trying to fend off. To be clear, under no clinical diagnostic I know of does a drunken, aggressive, and deeply stupid pass at a teenager qualify as pedophilia. Indeed, one working definition of pedophilia is “ongoing sexual attraction to pre-pubertal children … who are generally age 13 years or younger.”

The author of the Slate piece is “Joseph Fischel (an) Associate Professor of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Yale University and author of Sex and Harm in the Age of Consent (University of Minnesota Press, 2016).”

Here’s the description of “Sex and Harm in the Age of Consent.”

Sex and Harm in the Age of Consent cautions against the adoption of consent as our primary determinant of sexual freedom. Examining the representation of consent in U.S. law and media culture, Joseph J. Fischel contends that the figures of the sex offender and the child are consent’s alibi, enabling fictions that allow consent to do the work cut out for it under late modern sexual politics.

Engaging legal, queer, feminist, and political theory, case law and statutory law, and media representations, Fischel proposes that we change our adjudicative terms from innocence, consent, and predation to vulnerability, sexual autonomy, and “peremption,” which he defines as the uncontrolled disqualification of possibility. Such a shift in theory, law, and life would be less damaging for young people, more responsive to sexual violence, and better for sex.

It Happened Again

A gentleman killed eight people in New York City yesterday while shouting “Allahu Akbar.” Police and Federal officials are investigating his motives… which “may never be known” according to the standard template. The Progressive Left is also responding per standard template. Progressive politicians insist that we should pretend this thing never happened. Progressive media are worried about the “Anti-Muslim Backlash” that they always fret about, but which never actually happens (beyond some Mohammedans whining that “People on the subway gave me unfriendly looks” and making up hate crimes that never actually happened.)  Some progressive media types even opine that “Allahu Akbar” is a very beautiful thing to hear as you’re dying.

Blah, blah, blah… just another terror attack that we can’t do anything meaningful to prevent because that is “not who we are” and it would “go against our values.” We just have to accept repeated terror attacks like they do in Europe. (Where it’s gotten to the point where police don’t even bother to investigate crimes committed by Mohammedans.) (The Japanese and Koreans don’t worry about political correctness and have no Islamic Supremacist terror in their large cities.)

You have heard, of course, that the Islamic Supremacist that killed eight people yesterday was admitted to the USA on a ‘Diversity Visa.’ Oh, yes, he was.

Oh, and… what a surprise… the FBI had previously interviewed the mass-murderer about suspected terror ties then didn’t do anything about it.  This too is part of a pattern. (The FBI also checked out Speedbump Tsaernev, Omar Mateen, and Esteban Santiago-Ruiz before their terror killings and decided they were all good-to-go.)

Remember, according to the left, every Islamic Supremacist who commits a mass murder is a “lone wolf” who just decided, for no reason, to start killing non-Muslims one day. But Dylan Roof was absolutely the product of white Southern Culture and so all confederate paraphernalia must be immediately banned.

Really nothing to add here. It’s just the same old story that has happened many times before and will happen many times again. And each attack will be met with the same tired, ineffectual response as all the other Islamic Supremacist terror attacks.

I mean, if you really want to get literal about it; age of consent laws are a construct of the white patriarchy, and do tend to disproportionately affect “marginalized groups.”

Later on, they showed off what independent thinkers they were by mindlessly chanting along to what one of the protests was chanting.

Believe Liz Warren!

Liz Warren claims that she, like all women, was a victim of patriarchal sexual abuse. She claims that the man who was her faculty mentor as a young Native American law professor borderline raped her. And some pale people with penises have the temerity to question her story.

The faculty member Warren is referring to is law professor Eugene Smith, who was her mentor and close friend at the University of Houston. The reason we know this is because at Smith’s memorial service in 1997 Warren recounted and spoke about the incident. But the account then was dramatically different. In fact, the very opposite.

According to Warren, Smith was her buddy and they were joking around in the office, in which she was laughing uproariously. Numerous witnesses say that, even when speaking at the memorial service, Warren laughed about the alleged incident. Which begs the question: Who cracks jokes about being sexually assaulted? Unless, of course, it never happened.

More importantly, Warren conveniently—and deliberately—left out a seminal fact: Smith suffered from polio. That’s right. He was unable to walk or move around without a wheelchair or crutches. According to his former colleagues, Smith’s polio was so severe they felt pity for him.

Moreover, in 1997, Warren was then a law professor at Harvard. If she had really been assaulted by Smith, then why did she travel all the way to Houston, deliver a glowing eulogy and praise Smith for his “character” and “moral integrity”?

I believe we should take her word for it. After all, it’s not like Liz Warren ever lied about being a member of a politically favored victim group in order to gain a professional advantage before.

When Is it OK to Sexually Abuse Women?

Posted by V the K at 3:01 pm - October 28, 2017.
Filed under: Democrats & Double Standards

Answer: When you are a leftist icon or a powerful Democrat politician*.

Michael Kelly’s classic 1990 GQ profile, “Ted Kennedy on the Rocks,” recounts a sozzled and priapic 57-year-old man hitting on 16-year-old congressional pages, gulping down seemingly all the alcohol along the Eastern seaboard, and sexually assaulting a waitress at a DC restaurant with fellow solon Chris Dodd (Now the Chairman of the Motion Picture Association of America – VTK). A former staffer told Kelly that one of his erstwhile colleagues on the Senator’s staff acted as “a pimp…whose real position was to procure women for Kennedy,” not unlike the role that Italian fixer Fabrizio Lombardo played for Harvey Weinstein. Kennedy, Kelly concluded, had been raised “to take what he wants, to treat women as score-markers in the game of sport-fucking.” But thanks to the diligence and professionalism of his staff, Kennedy became a hero to liberals, referred to ubiquitously as “the lion of the Senate.”

Bill Clinton’s relationship with White House intern Monica Lewinsky should never have been grounds for impeachment. Still, it was nonetheless the epitome of the inappropriate workplace sexual relationship that feminists typically decry. Indeed, the power dynamic between these two consenting adults may have been the most disparate in modern American history, what with the most powerful man in the world deploying his clout – and then, when scandal erupted, that of his entire political operation – against a hapless intern. Like every single one of Bill Clinton’s many female accusers, Lewinsky was viciously attacked by liberals and ostensible feminists. “Drag a hundred dollars through a trailer park and there’s no telling what you’ll find,” Clinton adviser James Carville infamously said of Paula Jones. Yet for many purported feminists, Clinton’s atrocious behavior toward individual women was irrelevant. “I would be happy to give him a blowjob just to thank him for keeping abortion legal,” Time’s then-White House correspondent Nina Burleigh declared, offering precisely the sort of (gendered) indulgence that liberal cads like Clinton, Kennedy and Weinstein hope to gain in exchange for promoting left-wing causes. “I think American women should be lining up with their Presidential kneepads on to show their gratitude for keeping the theocracy off our backs.”
