Banned From Twitter… Again

February 8, 2021 by GayPatriot

Part of the reason for the reboot of the GayPatriot blog is my Twitter addiction. I joined Twitter in 2007, and fell in love with the brevity and the instant feedback from followers.

That addiction resulted in my brain ‘thinking’ in 180, then 240 characters. My desire to ‘long form’ blog died off as writing tweets became my creative attention span.

However, as most of you know, the free-flowing and fun days of Twitter are long behind us. From 2007 to 2018, I tweeted from the infamous Twitter handle – @GayPatriot.

I had built up quite a following too; over 75,000 followers.

But left-wing loons went after me in 2018 and that handle was permanently banned (including my IP address and cellphone number!).

So, as the story goes, I’ve had at least 10 different handles from 2018 through yesterday.

But it appears the anti-conservative cancel squad found me while I was tweeting about the Super Bowl last night. Once again, I’ve been banned by Big Tech. Such is life in 2021.

I have rebooted this site in part to make sure my voice is heard and people can find me and join in a conversation with me. Thanks for being a part of our GayPatriot community, everyone!

Are Trump’s Joe/Mika tweets strategic?

July 2, 2017 by Jeff (ILoveCapitalism)

Donald Trump is a genius at branding people. I still think that his tweets about Joe and Mika are un-presidential and unhelpful. But I have to admit: From now on, whenever I see Joe and Mika’s faces, I will remember that they’re vain people who have had work done (or at least she has), and that the POTUS shares my view that the two of them say and do some pretty ridiculous things.

There’s also a notion making the rounds that President Trump may have created the controversy for strategic reasons.

…the President couldn’t care less about Mika’s face or ‘Morning Joe’s’ ratings. The sole motive behind the attack was to distract the media from reporting on the travel ban and ‘Kate’s Law’ passing the House. The ‘Muslim Ban,’ as the MSM has coined it, is the most controversial law Trump will likely put into effect during his Presidency.

As Joseph Curl, former Drudge Report editor and Daily Wire writer tweeted… “For those who don’t think Trump is the Master Tweeter, the travel ban is in place and everyone’s talking about — Mika and Joe. Well played.”

I get the point being made. But I don’t quite buy it.

I mean, so what if we talk about the President’s temporary travel ban on 6 countries where the citizens are unusually prone to terrorism – AND have unusually poor documentation (poor proof of identity)? Or if we talk about a new law that cracks down on criminals entering the U.S. illegally?

They’re both good things. Why not let the media talk about them? The more they’re talked about, or the more Antifa is out protesting them: the more Trump’s own stock goes up. He improves his brand among the Silent Majority.

The SCOTUS travel ban decision last week was especially cool. 9-0, baby! It wasn’t a perfect decision; but heck, they had to get Ruth Bader Ginsberg on board. And they did, thus slapping down some real nonsense from the lower courts.

So, my view is that Trump would have been better off letting the media focus on the travel decision, on Kate’s law, or even on Trumprussia – which is increasingly being recognized as Fake News (so that talking about it actually hurts Democrats now). No need for all this Twitter strategery.

As always, feel free to disagree or to express your thoughts, in the comments.

UPDATE: Overnight, Trump got his tweets on, including his re-tweeting a parody video of him punching down CNN. 🙂

UPDATE: CNN’s answer is… a high-brow form of whining to Mommy. In measured tones, they play the victim. Poor dears. There goes what was left of their glamour.

UPDATE: Scott Adams argues that it’s all a big trap for CNN. In particular, CNN must cover – that is, re-broadcast – the parody “CNN smackdown” video. It’s like forcing CNN to advertise their own position of weakness.

The Face(book) of Evil

June 13, 2017 by Jeff (ILoveCapitalism)

The Right-o-sphere is rife with personal stories of Facebook, Google/Youtube and Twitter either de-monetizing, restricting, throttling, censoring or banning conservative and libertarian voices.

Facebook seems happy to do it – while allowing Islamists the run of the place, to the point where PM Theresa May called for Internet censorship after the recent Islamist mass murders in Manchester.

Earlier this year, Mark Zuckerberg said:

[Terrorist attacks are] carried out with a goal to spread fear and distrust, and turn members of a community against each other. I believe the only sustainable way to fight back against those who seek to divide us is to create a world where understanding and empathy can spread faster than hate, and where every single person in every country feels connected and cared for and loved. That’s the world we can and must build together.

This is so misguided that, coming from a nominally-intelligent man, one must almost wonder if some evil force possesses him? Because it happens to be what the wolf would say to the hounds if it could; or what Satan might say when cornered.

Newsflash, Mr. Zuckerberg: terrorist attacks are carried out with a goal of killing infidels and establishing the supremacy of Islam. Period. You have to admit a problem’s true nature, before you can solve it.

I don’t want to “fight back against those who seek to divide us.” Because that makes zero sense. Anyone who ever does anything good or new, or who takes a stand (be it true or false) on anything, “seeks to divide us.” It happens. It makes much more sense to fight back against those who seek to subjugate and/or kill us.

The terrorist losers use your own platform, Mr. Zuckerberg, and it’s not clear if you make much effort to stop them. Much less, an effort greater than what you put into stopping U.S. conservatives, or other critics of Hillary or the Big Government that you love so much.

Recently, a Pakistani man was sentenced to death for alleged blasphemy – on his Facebook page. Facebook claims innocence; “we do not provide any government with direct access to people’s data. We will continue to protect our community from unnecessary or overreaching government intervention.”

But I don’t know if I can believe that. Because:

  • Pakistan asked Facebook’s help to fight blasphemy.
  • Reports exist that Facebook assisted them.
  • Which are credible because of Facebook’s track record. When Angela Merkel pressed Zuckerberg to crack down on posts critical of Germany’s Muslim refugee crisis, he told her yes, they’re working on it.

Is Facebook an accessory to Pakistan’s judicial murder of Taimoor Raza? We need to know. I couldn’t find any recent statement about it.

And of course, that Facebook would ever give a hoot about anti-Jewish or anti-Christian blasphemy is unimaginable. (As it should be; the point here is Facebook’s extreme double standard.)

Right now it appears that Facebook puts WAY more into stopping conservatives and libertarians – people who stand for life and liberty – than it puts into stopping various kinds of Islamic murderer. That’s evil.

Hat tip Steven Crowder. By the way, his Painting Muhammad video is must-see.

The “End” of GayPatriot

October 3, 2013 by GayPatriot

No, no, no… calm down!  Our blog isn’t going anywhere!

I decided to move forward with my online and social media “brand” and ditch the “GayPatriot” moniker today.  Dan ditched “GayPatriotWest” a few years ago and I didn’t understand why.  I thought our names were cool and provided an instant recognition of who we were.  But, as usual, Dan was right so I’m following suit today.

Since December 2011, I’ve been striking out on my own as a political, media, grassroots consultant.  Leaving the clutches of Corporate America has been quite liberating and I’ve enjoyed the projects I’ve worked on to date.  I also made a conscious effort to push the “GayPatriot” brand for myself online, especially Twitter.

Well, I think the time is right to promote and grow who I am as a person and a professional — not hide behind a cute and fun nickname.  I’m engaged in a wide variety of endeavors now with the Match Game show, “The Wrap” podcast, and of course professional projects.  Time to grow up!

So from now on – you can find me on Twitter @BruceCarrollSC

PS – NO, I’m not running for office.  Just changing things up a bit!

-Bruce

My absence from the blog/Open Thread

August 25, 2013 by B. Daniel Blatt

I regret not having had the occasion to blog for quite a few days now. And do hope to chime in again soon.*

I have heard also that while Bruce has not been blogging much recently, he has been tweeting up a storm. And since I am not on twitter, I am not aware of the content of his many tweets, though have heard rumor of several.

Please note that if you wish to opine on his tweets, you should contact him, not me. He is responsible for his own words. For though I do blog at GayPatriot, I am not GayPatriot. That title belongs to Bruce and Bruce alone.

Now that I have spoken, have it in the comments. Let that section be our open thread. And be civil. Even as I urge you to express yourselves, respect those whom you criticize, address their arguments don’t insult their persons.

*ADDENDUM: A number of things, mostly involving my book, but also involving my family has kept me from blogging. As to the family, it’s mostly good things, with a beloved niece and cousins visiting Southern California.
